I do hope you all have a little supply of Dragon food handy: He's quite peckish this evening
:)

you have Total Recall?

No; I saw it on TV.

There are some real surprises on this list...including the #1 selling pickup of all time!

The ten most recalled vehicles of the last 25 years

I've owned two from that list!

.

Fortunately, it's not too common a problem over here, although the recent brouhaha over VW may cause some trouble. I've only had to take one vehicle into the Garage for work; a little Fiat car (something to do with brake pipes behind the fuel tank).

Don't they have "Quality Control" over there any more?

As cheap as that ?
:)

The Winnipeg Whore

...she sat down upon my knee.
"How about a little lovin'?
A dollar and a half is the usual fee."

She took my arm and led me quickly
To the place she used for sleep:
Dirty old room with a straw-filled mattress;
Wasn't too clean, but she sure was cheap.*

*The standard fee for a whore in Winnipeg at the time was $2.00. This was generally paid with a $2 bill, which soon became "special purpose money," used exclusively for that transaction. Even in the 1970s I noted older ladies who would refuse a $2 bill in change or from the bank because it was "dirty money."

But if you pay for it, doesn't that make you a whoremonger??

.Tio, you are too damn fast! ;)

:D

Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien - Edith Piaf

You rarely hear this song in English. I used to like this version by Kay Star:-
No Regrets

Predictably, it was not widely spread; the great Piaff was too much in peoples memory.
--- --- ---

Tio; the English are NOT bitter; our young drink what amounts to Gnats Piss; a ghastly brew made rather like 'lager'.
This may have been due in the most part to the taxes on alcohol, the desire by the Government to restrict widespread drunken orgies (more like battles) and generally be influenced by American Advertising. And the fact that it was cheaper to produce, required very little expertise on the part of the brewer (now replaced by an accountant) and could be sold to anyone under the age of 20 or so.
Fortunately, the micro-breweries, CAMRA and the craft beers movement are changing it back!
