Best cake ever. Ok, got to write that one down! Two types of alcohol keep it pretty on topic as well!


Edit: I prefer cakes that come out of the oven damp I think, I even like ones that sink a little. Brutta ma buono. ( ugly but beautiful) this cake looks beautiful too though in that picture. .

this one is pretty "dampish" what with the sour cream and guiness in the batter. yum. If you give it a try ~ please tell me how it turns out for you!

Chestnuts are not available throughout the country... they only grow in some parts of the east - so it depends are where you are CnC...they certainly don't grow anywhere near where I live now, but I was able to get them easily when I lived in Central PA.

Whole Foods and sometimes HEB too has chestnuts around Christmas time. I bake it in the oven. Not quite the same as roasting them, but they're not bad.

I spent a sum total of one night at the MIL's house over 12yrs. There was no less than 12 Virgin Mary's in my Ex's bedroom. No we didn't fool around. On the upside she only spoke Eyetalian and wouldn't speak to the hulking mungicake alone.


First glass of red tonight, but I have a bottle of vintage tawny Port I'm aching to open.
