I dont think its an accident that someone is at that level of a moron. It has to be freaking full time job to keep at it with such devotion.

But I am sure he will be in here soon to tell us how we are all meanies just for clicking into this thread.

I'm not sure the moron you are talking about is the same moron I'm talking about, around here you've really got to be specific.

My moron would be flattered and talk about how wonderful he is.

The colloquial term in my home territory was 'spad' for retard. That's because the nearby community of Spadra houses the Pacific Colony, a home for the mentally deficient. If you were institutionalized in Spadra you were a Spad, obviously. Or a mental retread, a feeb.

Anglish used to have fine distinctions between levels of retardation: imbeciles, idiots, morons, etc. I forget which was lower or higher. But now they're all sort of jumbled together. My fave term now for those with delusions of adequacy but no decency or competence is 'fucktard'. The roads are filled with fucktards. So is the GB. Ay yi yi.

Obviously, I must be, if Sir Des told me that I am one.

The original etymology is also worthy of note...I am just too 'idiotic' to have noted it adaquate ly. It means something like private or removed I think, I cannot quite remember the nuance. ( I did not study Ancient Greek, I wish I had) .

Idiotes, yes - those who do not participate in democracy. As Pericles said in his funeral oration:

'We do not say that a man who takes no interest in politics is a man who minds his own business; we say that he has no business here at all.'

Unfortunately, these days, the idiots use their votes.
