Happy Trudeau day Canada! I know it's not really a holiday but any leader named Justin sounds like a hip guy, so celebrate that
As I travel around I'm impressed with the world knowledge the rest of the world has and am shocked at how self-centered we are in the States. I don't know that that means but I just notice it.
When you notice things, are you moved to change your ways or do you just notice and move on? What would it take for you you to affect change(of yourself)? or are you happy with the way things are?
Canada is definitely awash in red with a liberal government...anything but Harper was the motto!
I worked in tourism for 10 years in the museum world. And while I love all my American friends here they did ask the strangest questions. For example...do you take a boat to the mainland for school? (P's. ..they drove to Nova Scotia from the states), our money and your money look the same...just a different picture yet daily people would hold out their hands and ask us to count it for them since they didn't understand it. And my fave, in July. .skis on the roof...'can you direct us to the nearest ski hill?'....sure, it's 5000 miles north west give or take. However, for the most part I found that people would ask if they didn't understand or wanted to learn something.
On a separate note, some one recommended The Kite Runner and reading it, I realized I only ever knew about Afghanistan through media of my generation. Reading the book prompted me to learn about it pre war, the people, the history.
So I guess, the long winded answer is yes, I do try and change.
