Bergdahl is an embarrassment to the army, but more to the point, he’s an embarrassment to Barack Obama. This case was never going to end up with Bergdahl having the book thrown at him, giving him serious jail time. After all, the narrative must be maintained. The president made a great deal to get Bergdahl released — five terrorist leaders for a deserter — and that desertion in the face of the enemy is “honorable service.”

All hail the bloody narrative.

The Eastasia/Eurasia flip-over in reporting on the Middle East will make for jaw-dropping reading if the president has an (R) after his or her name in January of 2017.

He doesn't have to issue the order. These are smart men who know what will happen to their careers should they embarrass him too badly by concluding that the hero was actually a deserter.

Here's the key to the whole thing... until this is decided all the rest is just conjecture. It may have been recommended but the decision isn't final.

Visger presided over last month’s Article 32 hearing in Texas that reviewed evidence against Bergdahl. Visger submitted a report with his recommendation on Monday, but the Army hadn’t said what Visger recommended.

Gen. Robert Abrams, the commanding general of U.S. Army Forces Command, will ultimately decide whether the case should be referred to a court-martial. No timeline has been given for a decision from Abrams.

"The stage is now set for the end game. General Abrams is the son of former World War II hero and Vietnam era Army Chief of Staff Creighton Abrams. I served as a JAG officer in the 11th ACR under his older brother John N. Abrams who also went on to become a full general. This family of generals is as loyal to the Army and politically savvy Army as brass can get. Of three commanding officers I served under in the 11th ACR, John Abrams was by far the most careful and politically minded, and also went on to the highest rank.

"Robert Abrams will likely do whatever he thinks is in his and the Army’s immediate best interest. This is likely to be a referral to a Special Courts Martial, followed by a plea agreement. It is doubtful that the defense will again be able to use Dahl to convey Bergdahl’s side of the story at an actual trial as it is hearsay -- admissible at the hearing officer’s discretion at an Article 32 but likely not an actual trial. They will not want to risk that, putting pressure on Bergdahl to testify and subjecting him to damaging cross-examination, assuming the Army can produce a halfway competent prosecution team. For the Army’s part, they will not want to risk a humiliating loss, bad press, or Obama’s ire. The likely outcome: Bergdahl will admit to going AWOL, be separated administratively with nothing worse than a general discharge, and receive his back pay and benefits. "

Bergdahl will come out with a book shortly after they spring him.

Letting him slide is an absolute disgrace and proves that The Traitor doesn't give a damn about anyone who ever served. He's morally bankrupt.

I question the sanity of anyone stupid enough to still support him.
