 Have a good sleep when you make it to bed. I passed out around 9 or so last night. Yard work did me in.

Today, I will endure getting dragged to the ridiculously stupid spectacle of the NFL (which entails tolerating the obnoxious proximity of 50,000 drunken idiots yelling obscenities in my ear for three hours).

The things I do for friends !!

I did! It was a very nice one, and the pup came along. My feet were a little froze by the end.
ah, but the memories, the colours, the sounds, the very air... :rose: yeah, you get any more bright ideas like that, maybe dress a little warmer :D still, itmust have been - ah, poetry sings in the sunrise and when it dies each night. :)

good to go

I've never had goose!
the 2 at home really like it as well :D
turkey can be nice, i mean i cook it fine - moist, stuffing, and so on, but no3 finds regular turkey and chicken tasteless. till i started getting this irish chicken from the butchers - tastes like real chicken! annnnnnyway, goose, yeah - scrumptious. rich in flavour, much meatier (game flavour rather than your usual poultry), and do the roasties in the grease. to die for. but keep the bird up out of the fats, prick the skin well to let it drain as it cooks and pour off the fat into another tray for the roasties. i only get it at xmas time, though, as it's expensive @around £40 - but with the 3 of us indoors it does a good 2 or 3 meals, so not too bad overall. made a wicked curry with it as well.

You're not going to an NFL game with only 50K in the seats.

That looks delicious Brooke. I was just thinking I need to make a big breakfast spread as I actually have the day off. I think I'll go the omelet route.

La mer
Paroles et Musique: Charles Trenet ©1945

La mer
Qu'on voit danser le long des golfes clairs
A des reflets d'argent
La mer
Des reflets changeants
Sous la pluie

La mer
Au ciel d'été confond
Ses blancs moutons
Avec les anges si purs
La mer bergère d'azur
Infinie

Voyez
Près des étangs
Ces grands roseaux mouillés
Voyez
Ces oiseaux blancs
Et ces maisons rouillées

La mer
Les a bercés
Le long des golfes clairs
Et d'une chanson d'amour
La mer
A bercé mon cœur pour la vie

Or if you prefer the English lyrics by Jack Lawrence

Somewhere beyond the sea,
Somewhere, waiting for me,
My lover stands on golden sands
And watches the ships that go sailing;

Somewhere beyond the sea,
He's (She's) there watching for me.
If I could fly like birds on high,
Then straight to his (her) arms I'd go sailing.

It's far beyond a star,
It's near beyond the moon,
I know beyond a doubt
My heart will lead me there soon.

We'll meet beyond the shore,
We'll kiss just as before.
Happy we'll be beyond the sea,
And never again I'll go sailing!
