How Many Pairs of Shoes Does a Woman Need?

I wonder if my arches are high.

Not sure if you were just making a joke but....

Most drugstores have these thingy's you can slip into your shoes to help with arch support. They do help in those certain shoes that kill you.

Hey, look it up, high arches are indicative of intelligence and great perception. :)

Take your unexpected magic whenever you can~ ;)

I was seriously wondering about my feet and the relative issues I have recently with foot hurt.

I am looking at pictures now, and I do have a pretty high curve. I always thought it was from walking on tippy-toes.

If my arches are high I can blame a strange perception of the world on my feet!

My wife has 12 pairs of shoes..I have 3.
I know that some women have more...but why?

Just replace shoes in their mind with whatever material object gets you going.

Is it tools? is it cars? motorcycles? old video game consols? guns? pens? watches?

However you feel about your hobby, some women feel about shoes.

:)

The OP should compare a woman's number of shoes with a man's collection of tools - screwdrivers, spanners, drills, saws.

They are both collections for specific purposes and some will not be suitable for a particular activity.

And both get accumulated well beyond the absolute basic need.

Some women like buying shoes; some men like buying tools. Both can make impulse purchases that will not be used but look good.

Let's see

Flats to go with trousers and skirts - different colours to go with different coloured outfits
Sandals for the beach and summer gear
Heels for nights out - court shoes, sandal types dependent on dress code
Flat and heeled boots (ankle and to the knee or over the knee) for winter to go with trousers and long boots to go with skirts
Sports shoes for the gym
Fuck me heels for lingerie

Men
Black smart shoes
Brown smart shoes
Sports shoes
Summer sandals

It's more expensive being a woman than a man. We don't get to change up our tie and make a suit last the week

Stupid thread

I own more tools than shoes.

I think you've hit the nail on the head.. . .. .. . which reminds me I need a larger ball pein. :)

A recent academic survey into the UK use of domestic power tools - drills, jigsaws, sanders etc found that the average power tool is used for a quarter of an hour in total before it is replaced or discarded.

Women's shoes, even the most unsuitable impulse purchase, tend to be worn for longer than that.

Why do I have fourteen hammers? And multiple sets of spanners in AF, Metric, Whitworth and BA?

I probably have close to that (looks in the closet).

2 pair running shoes (one looks nice the other is all kinds of fucked up)
1 pair standard dress shoes
1 pair Italian dress boots
1 pair G.I. issue jungle boots (left over from Military service, used as hiking boots now)
1 pair Parachute jump boots (replaced original issue combat boots, good motorcycle boot)
1 pair rubber barn boots
1 pair standard work type boot
1 pair Mountain horse tall field boot
1 pair Konig Dressage tall boot

If you count flip flops & water socks, that adds up to an even dozen. So it isn't all that unusual and Lord knows I'm no fashion plate.

Here's the dickhead shit again. That's because your punk ass don't know how to throw it on. You probably wear $20 sneakers. Chucks and simple shit like that. I pay $250 for most of my sneakers. $190 the lowest, beside from forces. Swagg means something to me. Maybe not to you.

Smooth. Until you get a pair of Church's shoes you are a slob! They will cost you a minimum of $500.00 a pair off the shelf, or a bit more made to measure - from $1200.00 upwards.

Google 'em.

Shame on you Og! No BSF?

My Whitworth Spanners are marked for BSF sizes as well:

From Wikipedia

Thus all but the oldest (pre-WW2) 'Whitworth' nuts/bolts are likely to use the BSF/BSW head size (sometime just marked as 'BS'). As a result, you will sometimes see spanners marked along the lines of '1/4 W 5/16 BS' indicating the jaws are sized for a 1/4" Whitworth bolt, or the next step up at 5/16" for BSF/BSW.

I do have a few BSF only spanners, but not a complete set.

I have Chucks and they have no arch support. None at all. Probably why they hurt so bad.

I don't even go barefoot around my house. We have ceramic tile throughout, (except for the bedrooms) and I get cramps in my feet if I walk around barefoot.

I wear my husbands socks :) and Isotoner slippers over them regularly around the house.

Pippies unite! * (Pippies are my childhood word for "slippers")

I have high arches and need the support.
my slippers are my 'happies', as that's what they do for my feet at the end of a long day's walking/working

I wear cheap 40 dollar sneakers, because I just run/sweat/trash them in no time and they must be disposable, like the 20 dollar flip flops.

lol @ 250 dollar sneakers....my fitted work boots cost 3x that. Professional world? No one in sneakers is taken seriously.

A good pair of clean shoes for a sharp suit? You can drop a G' in a heartbeat on some Italian letha...

*shrug* not for everyone......I occasionally enjoy looking sharp as hell....feeling like a bawss....also it makes women gawk at me considerably more often/blatantly over my usual joe the farmer garb. It's fun to inflate the head every now and then...won't lie.

You wear flip flops? That's the punk shit.

I'm always looking for the ultimate dress shoes that I can wear for work, walk two miles in, and are still at least somewhat sexy.

Try Clarks shoes. I've never owned a pair that I didn't have to break-in, but after they relax they are pretty comfy. Most styles are kind of chunky though, stacked heels and such.

Mentioning the stacked heel because I can't forget the scene in Wolf of Wall Street where the female broker yells out "they're fat girl shoes" in reference to Steve Madden- who's style is kind of chunky. I still wear stacks tho, and they are what you should wear if you're going to grave site funeral, standing on tippy toes so you don't sink in the soil is very tiresome.

I am trapped in hard soled shoes but I have accepted it now. My feet want that. I have to comply in order to function.

I should think about boots. I really only like plain lace ups, but I am going to search around. I don't have any boots except rain boots. I want warm boots for the winter but I want them to look good too. If you have any ideas post them for me please. :rose:

i recently picked up a pair of justin work boots with a nice upper design. i like that they have tread on the bottom and provide full support for my foot. i had a pair of ariats for years that were very similar. they are both very much working cowgirl boots. with wool socks, they'll keep your toes nice and toasty in the winter.

eta - boot collection justin boots - super comfy.

If I counted them all, I probably have over 100 pairs of assorted footwear.

Each has a purpose, only a few were purchased just 'because'.

My preferred running shoe went out of production so I bought 6 pairs and would have bought more had they stocked more in my size.

I usually buy two pairs of any hiker that works for me.

I buy several pairs of the types I wear as daily shoes.

I have only two or three pairs with heels over an inch; those are only for the Hunt Ball and that only after whining for two to three days.

I don't want to count pairs of riding boots of various types, or my wellies, or my muck boots. Each is important to the success of my family and the free world.

Paddock boots do not count in the total shoe count, they are tools. (see ogg)

Grasshoppers sort of just reproduce on their own, it's not my fault.

I do not know why the crocs are still here, same for the Uggs. I did not buy those and I'm sticking to that story.

Slippers cannot be counted towards the total, they aren't truly shoes.

A woman should have as many pairs of shoes as she wants. I have *lots*. Shoes, boots, sandals, heels, a rare pair of flats. I love shoes and sundresses and clothes and panties and bras and, okay I just really like being a woman.

'O, reason not the need: our basest beggars
Are in the poorest thing superfluous:
Allow not nature more than nature needs,
Man's life's as cheap as beast's: thou art a lady;
If only to go warm were gorgeous,
Why, nature needs not what thou gorgeous wear'st,
Which scarcely keeps thee warm. '

You wear flip flops? That's the punk shit.

Around the porch/beach yea.....how is that punk shit? Last I checked that was appropriate lounge/beach/pool footwear.

What do you wear to the beach? Around close to the house?

Shit you prob wear shoes inside the house too....disgusting.
