How Many Pairs of Shoes Does a Woman Need?

I have tried all kinds of shoes for work, and I always go back to Dansko, or Sanita. I am not sure why they don't work on your feet, unless you are wearing them too small. It's weird, if there is not about a 1/2 inch between the heel and the shoe-- it is too small.

Why you should not wear Dansko.

I found this article and realized my pain in the foot might be from wearing Dansko all the time at work. I can't even wear any other shoes without my foot hurting! Now, here I am confined to Dansko and clogs for the rest of my life. At least I found a red pair.

Fascinating article! This may explain several friends who seem addicted to Danskos and are never seen without them (except for for the occasional Keens).

I have several pairs of Danskos. They are all ultimately either just slightly too big or slightly too small, although they always feel great at the shoe store or fresh out of the Zappos box.

Laugh as you may...but my fave sneakers were the Reebok "Princess" model.

I wore them for years and loved that they came in Black also.

About two years ago I went to buy another pair and they fit totally weird! They had re-designed these and they were awful! The back of the shoe, over the heel, they made shorter so it felt as if the shoe was slipping down off the heel....among other things.

Dammit, every time I find the PERFECT *anything*, I buy and use the product for as long as I can only to find them discontinued or re-designed....totally messing it up for me....bras, hair products and makeup are the worst~

I have narrow feet that are slightly curved...almost like a very mild club-foot, with a very high arch. These were the most comfortable shoes I'd ever worn.

Now, I'm still looking for anything that comes close. /xbitch

Try the Reebok classic. I heard they were pretty comfortable

My wife has 12 pairs of shoes..I have 3.
I know that some women have more...but why?

How many dresses does she have? Panties? Hose? How much room does she take up in the bathroom? How much toilet paper are you going through?

Getting the picture here?

Wow! Thanks smooth! I know you must have asked around on my behalf and it's greatly appreciated.

Thanks, I will definitely seek them out this week. Not hard as I have a great shopping center just a half mile away.

They are fun looking. I want a pair to wear with a cute dress. I have not found a suitable pair yet.

I am totally hooked up with the best sites for shopping. I've seen those come around every now and then.

They are the kind you are looking for. Next time I see them, I'll post to you and show you a pic. These are sites that carry high end products at greatly reduced prices!

I think it may be true, the feet get hooked and fitted to the Dansko and it is a problem. It is a problem for me, and apparently your friends. I am secretly happy that I am not the only one stuck in these shoes for the rest of my life.

I found myself looking at my work shoes when having to leave the house for simple errands. I would think: I can't wear these white box work shoes to the store. My feet would whisper: Do it! Do it!

And here we are on the foot road of life. I am addicted to the Dansko crack footwear. Shoes that were once a part of my work uniform have now become home shoes, going out shoes, shopping shoes, walking shoes, and party shoes.

The article explains why it hurts to wear any other kind of shoe, and why they work for work. I have been having a lot of right foot pain, mostly at home when out of my work shoes.

A friend told me to wear sneakers at work, so I tried it. It was a big mistake. I suffered at work so badly, and hurt so much at home.

I am going to make sure I go barefoot as much as possible to stretch the plantar fascia.

I think the Dansko are made in America. I can't be sure but I am reading about the brand and the benefits vs. risk of these shoes now that I realize I have a problem.

They do have a strange sizing. They are supposed to fit big, and they look like they will slip off the heel but they do not. I wear a size 7 so I buy size 38 Dansko.

If you like the look of Dansko have you tried the Sanita? The Sanita fit better for a narrow foot. My friend loves her Sanita. I have an oxblood color pair on the back porch. I wore them for years, they are clogs with an open back which I love. I don't wear them anymore. I leave them on the porch for all seasons for about the last two years. I am going to see how long it takes for the weather to destroy them. It is an experiment.

They come in black too.

Let's start shopping! The all night shoe search is on!
I am still here searching and reading about shoes.

Yes, give me shoes at greatly reduced prices!

Yes, the saddles without the heels are the best looking! I want a rounder toe, like a box toe.

Apparently, the Converse Chuck Taylor's have been redesigned for comfort!

I don't know how I survived wearing those as a child. I tried a pair on recently because they look cute with jeans, and let me just tell you... they hurt.

I wear danskos too. And years ago i had a pait of leather clogs with wooden soles. I loved them but my wife said they made me look gay. Hehe. She wound up throwing them in the garbage when i wasn't around. I must of been with my secret gay lover that day. :D

Here's the dickhead shit again. That's because your punk ass don't know how to throw it on. You probably wear $20 sneakers. Chucks and simple shit like that. I pay $250 for most of my sneakers. $190 the lowest, beside from forces. Swagg means something to me. Maybe not to you.

I wear cheap 40 dollar sneakers, because I just run/sweat/trash them in no time and they must be disposable, like the 20 dollar flip flops.

lol @ 250 dollar sneakers....my fitted work boots cost 3x that. Professional world? No one in sneakers is taken seriously.

A good pair of clean shoes for a sharp suit? You can drop a G' in a heartbeat on some Italian letha...

I don't wear slacks and suits and shit like that.

*shrug* not for everyone......I occasionally enjoy looking sharp as hell....feeling like a bawss....also it makes women gawk at me considerably more often/blatantly over my usual joe the farmer garb. It's fun to inflate the head every now and then...won't lie.

I know that some women have more...but why?

I can't speak to the subject practically at all, so I have no idea...

...but I do read over in the Twatterville thread quite often the "We" ladies whining and moaning about how many pairs they go through having to trod around in their own bull crap every single day.

I can't recall them posting an actual number, though...

...sorry.

Isn't it crazy? I was so shocked that they hurt my feet. I was mad.

It's almost slipper time here, I will wait for the season change before switching out from flip-flops.

Feet are funny, they want what they want.

my feet were mad and hurt.

they are better now, because they are in my slippers. also - boots. i love my boots. i hate having to break new ones in, but once they're broken in, i am in heaven.

I am trapped in hard soled shoes but I have accepted it now. My feet want that. I have to comply in order to function.

I should think about boots. I really only like plain lace ups, but I am going to search around. I don't have any boots except rain boots. I want warm boots for the winter but I want them to look good too. If you have any ideas post them for me please. :rose:

I have Chucks and they have no arch support. None at all. Probably why they hurt so bad.

I don't even go barefoot around my house. We have ceramic tile throughout, (except for the bedrooms) and I get cramps in my feet if I walk around barefoot.

I wear my husbands socks :) and Isotoner slippers over them regularly around the house.

Pippies unite! * (Pippies are my childhood word for "slippers")

I have high arches and need the support.
