Yes the boss has been continuously supported by the wonderful readers of LITEROTICA over the past few years. This in spite of his medical problems that prevented him from submitting any new stories.

However he is almost back to full health and hopefully will soon be presenting new bestsellers to these readers who appreciate his work.

Poor scouries or whoever is posting as him. The author under you on the favorites list posted a story and gained around 16 favorites over the last two days. You on the other hand haven't posted anything in 2-3 years and you gained the exact same thing.

Your first incarnation last posted a story about the same time you did. She was right below you on the list. Now she has half the favorites you do and is way down the list.

Every time you are gone from this site for a while you lose a lot of favorites to the people below you. but once you're back to posting here in the AH and only here in the AH your favorites skyrocket you back to 50 above the one below you. It used to be one hundred but you were gone for an extended time a few months ago and haven't taken the time to regain that lose.

Funny thing also, I check peoples favorite list as they favorite me. You are on very very few of them.

You can always tell when scouries is lying. His propaganda alts lips are moving or his lips are moving. Nothing but bullshit and ego.

Don't feel bad, in the past I have referred to them as "Pure porno" titles.

But it is a formula to get the most attention and that is the only way we get paid here. And looking at her insane numbers she has it down to a science.

My personal style and what I enjoy causes me to not succumb to it and just get whatever traffic I get doing it my way.

You can have stroky titles without being totally out there my "Sharing Mom with dad" tells you the story is not high literature, nor is My Mother is Horny Drunk

But where I think it can hurt is people do judge and I have found Silk's stories to have more depth by far then the titles indicate.

Whereas another author here has more serious titles, but writes nothing but pure stroke porn where every woman is nothing but a pair of breasts and three holes with legs, but they are very popular.

Can't judge by the wrapping here I guess is the point

Seeing the number of fav pages you are on and the vote totals of your stories I wouldn't really care to much about the demographic I mentioned. You'd be losing more than you would gain if you swapped styles.....then again you have such a hug fan base they would read a new story from you no matter what..

No matter what move any of us make here it falls into you win some you lose some. And whether we like it or not we get a 'reputation' after a bit and once we do it seems hard to shake.

I will always be known as an 'incest author' here despite the fact my most successful stories are in other categories.

If everyone notices, you can at least feel good about writing a story that people are actually reading! Maybe add a comment to the story clarifying the problem for any potentially confused readers?

Ah, so there's a trick to the system. (Many it looks like) Dang, I should have paid more attention before now.

Going to try to enter the contest, if I can get my mojo going and get this story completed! How do people do the once a week stories? Do you have a plan in mind or take requests for stories? A mix of several things? What's the trick to staying motivated?

I write up a story whenever my Muse drops one, unless I can't get to it before forgetting what the story is supposed to be about. I write about two a week except for those weeks I'm working on an e-book, and I have anywhere between thirty and forty banked at any one time. Then I just pull on up for here every week (or so--have three over the last two weeks).

There's still most of this week to submit entries to the Summer Lovin' Contest, even though I have started the support thread for the Halloween Contest.

The Halloween Contest is open for entries on 1 October - about a month from now.

I'm bummed. After only a few hours "Bailey, the Family Pet" is struggling with a low score and already a negative comment. It's probably the most original erotic thing I've ever done, about a world where humans can become pets.

I also fucked up posting Bailey. I needed to switch POV at the end of a chapter where the POV character gets knocked unconscious, but the scene has to continue for a few more beats. So I switched to another character's POV and in the copy I posted I indicate the switch with a little white space, but I forgot that Lit strips all the white space out before posting the story (even though I can see the white space in the preview just fine!) So now there is no visual cue that the POV is switching. It's so annoying that I forgot this and didn't add some asterisks between the break.

Does this ever happen to anyone else?

Yep. Uploaded two stories within days - one kept the white space, one ran together. I've ensured I use '***' to separate since.

I know there's a thing about not submitting an edit before the voting ends, but I would do it if you think it'll impact on the readability.

Hey, thank you so much for the kind words. I read that comment earlier today and it made my night.

I'm always so surprised when people have a strong negative reaction. Really? You didn't like it. Wow. I also can't seem to gauge how well or poorly a story will do in the scores. But that's all cool because I like hanging out in the contest threads and talking writing with the other sex writing nerds. There is nothing quite like feeling like you belong.

I've found some really fascinating stories on this site. Reading some of the work here has allowed me to ignore more of the self censoring I always seem to do, and get to some of my best work. It's really been a good thing for me. My big challenge is to not allow myself to get too caught up in scores or the trolls, but, really those are the challenges I face anywhere. If you do read Bailey, I'd love to hear what you think, especially if it doesn't work for you.

I'm surprised and pleased that my story has received so many votes so quickly. I'm also getting many favorites on it. I think many must just be bookmarks because it is a long story.

I don't usually get many votes because my stories are sometimes femdom, and that challenges the more usual 'bash the bitch' trend on Lit.

So far no one has picked up my error. Maybe they won't, but it irritates me like a wobbly tooth...

Posted my story at 10 (PST) last night and I see it is already up and running (and being chased by trolls) this morning.

I posted it in Romance, but I'm not sure how well it will do there as it isn't your standard 'boy meets girl and they fall in love' kind of tale.

I was pleased with how early I was able to get it submitted though. Six days before the deadline is a new record for me. Usually I'm still working my way through the last rewrite six hours before the deadline.
