I Need Help in Submitting a Story

My brother-in-law has a notebook filled with erotic stories...some are true...some are fiction... and some are combination. But he has one completely true story entitled The Sweet Hitchhiker. He was traveling home from Ft. Order, CA to his home in LA. Instead of flying, he drove because he wanted to take his car home before going overseas on his next tour of duty. It starts to rain as he's is leaving CA. It quickly turns into a downpour. He spots someone dripping wet sitting on a dufflebag with their arm out and thumb up. He pulls over and opens the passenger door. He is surprised to find that the drenched hopeful hitchhiker is a very attractive young woman. When he finds out they are both heading in the same direction, he throws her dufflebag in the backseat and they are off. He sees that she is soaked and probably everything in her duffle as well. He points out that he may have dry towels, sweatpants or PT shorts and tee shirts and socks in his dufflebag in the backseat behind him. She climbs over the seat and strips and towels herself dry and puts on some of his dry clothes before returning to the front seat. They begin to talk a d he finds out that his passenger is not only heading to LA, but less than 10 miles from his destination. He also makes note that the girl looks somewhat familiar but he can't figure out how.
As they talk she learns more about him.

Alright. I know I left out a ton of details, including when the girl (Mary) but I was going to change it to my name (Nancy), became aware of the fact that Danny was her cousin's boyfriend. The incident in the truckstop was filled with information and plot turns. Of course, the night in the motel was far more explicit and detailed...not to mention hot and sexy.

Now, I don't care if either Danny or I are credited in any way if someone wants to take this and flesh it out. I think it is a story worth telling and worth reading.

Danny is my brother-in-law. He and my sister have been separated for seven years. Neither has sought a divorce. Danny and I have been seeing each other, and, yes, we have a great sex life for the past 4+ years. But he has some great fictional accounts of us being together previously when I was married. It didn't happen...but I wished it had.

Now. Can anyone do something with my (his) story?

By "notebook" do you mean a hand-written paper notebook? Or do you mean a computer?

Because if it's a computer, you can probably get a volunteer editor to take the text and work it into a story. But if you mean a hand-written notebook, you are going to have to find someone willing to take on the tedious task of typing it up into a computer, or do it yourself. If it's as long of a story as you imply, that might be a tough nut to crack!

Editors don't write stories based on scenarios given them (in the editor function). That would be a ghost writer or co-author depending on how much writing the other person put into it.

No Closer To a Solution

All of my brother-in-law's writing is handwritten in a series of notebooks that fill one shelf of his bookcase. A rough estimate is 60 complete stories. His story is in far greater detail than I have written. No access to a computer. Long, unnecessary story. So, I am no closer to getting it submitted than before. If I had access to a computer, I'd type it myself. That's no big deal. Well, thanks for your time. You were all so great. By the way, Danny and I both favor this genre of story for the obvious reasons. We prefer stories written by female writers. Can you recommend a list of such female writers?

Nope. I haven't seen any indication that you aren't just ripping this guy's personal notebook notes off, and I don't see any reason why an author with her/his own ideas would want to write story ideas up that you've just swiped from someone else. But maybe someone else will bite on it. Good luck.

To get the stories from paper to computer, you'd likely need to pay someone... or offer something in trade.

Or you could buy a cheap computer with transcription software on it and just read the stories to your computer.
