Why bother with a manual trans?

Because I like to drive, and I like to decide when the gears are changed.

Plus they [manual transmissions] rob less power, don't heat up when engine braking on grades, are better for down shifting to pull a grade, and most manual transmissions are stronger and tend to last 250,000 miles (or more) instead of 100,000. Far cheaper to replace when th[e] time comes.

He's fifteen years my junior. He won the first set 6-2. Prior to today, I'd only lost one set to him. He's been taking lessons and working hard on his game.

Then, I lost the first three games of the second set.

Believe me, thoughts were beginning to cross my mind. It was at that precise point that my physical fitness and conditioning began to kick in.

I proceeded to win twelve games in a row.

2-6, 6-3, 6-0.

It's very sobering to realize that the only reason I beat a lot of people isn't due to the fact that I'm a better tennis player. The only reason I'm able to beat 'em is 'cause I outrun 'em and outlast 'em.

That isn't going to get the job done a whole lot longer. My days are numbered.

He is a shiba inu! I rescued him about five years ago. I love this breed, but he is not really good with kids. He likes to bite their feet to get them to do what he wants them to do. I guess you could say he is an excellent babysitter.
