I have an idea, and 600+ words so far. It's a little niche though, so niche that only about 0.001% of the Lit readership will get it. And it's going in 'Humor & Satire', which means about 5 votes.

Sadly as geronimo says, I can't post it here because I was only 16 at the time. Gosh, I am a bit at a loss. I have never managed to get a story together in time for the start of a competition! Sometimes I have just made it by the very last closing minute, LOL. When the competition (eventually) starts, do you put it in on the first day? Or do you put it in a couple of days beforehand with the note so Laurel can get it all read and set up ready to post on the day?
(Sorry, I'm still a little smug that I got the thing written AT ALL.)

I think I deserve that Webb-Ellis trophy with additional bum cheeks for that. Especially considering that I did it while building an IKEA flatpack sofabed! Genuine question:
So what happens on the day? I should post my story a couple of days beforehand, with the competition message in Notes, so that Laurel can line it up? or I should post it on that day?

I think you can submit a day before. I haven't heard anyone submitting it before a couple of days.

I have heard of submitting a few days before, but that was an audio story - they always take a lot longer to upload. Just a day before for text then?

Audio stories are a pain to post. I think you should send the audio file whenever you post your story. Send a PM to her that you've posted an audio along with it. That way, she'll be on the lookout for it.

You can submit the story several days early if you like. When you submit is entirely up to you.

I always post a few days before, just to be safe. Doesn't hurt. I've never had any issues.
