A random thought to ask the Playground has popped into my head.
If you were a video game, what kind of game woud you be and what would happen?
Would you be an old school side scrolling 8-bit platformer saving the princess?
Maybe something more modern like a Grand Theft Auto.
Perhaps you are a free and fun little mobile game that people get addicted to and eats up battery.
Maybe you're a racing game.
You could be an old school RPG with a party of 4.
A fighting gajme with a variety of strange characters (or just different versions of yourself).
Maybe you're some weird and dirty adult Japanese game that makes no sense logically but for some reason you're aroused despite the tentacle demon and schoolgirls.
What are you?
Now, I know this is essentially a nerdy question and not everyone here plays videogames.
If you are one of those that don't normally play games, you still can answer the question anyway.
Everyone has some kind of familiarity with videogames, and perhaps you can imagine some concept for a videogame that a normal gamer wouldn't consider something good to be a game.
I could even accept you turning yourself into a board game if you really don't care for video games.

I had to think of an answer for my own game as this thread idea popped into my head and typed it up, and I think I have a rough idea.
The game where I'm a character would have to be an open world type game about normal life... ahem... "normal" life.
You'd be on your way to the store to buy groceries, and maybe ninjas attack.
Coffee or tea with the neighbor on your day off? Alien bicycle race happens.
Out in the garden? Find a giant frog with a saddle.
A not so normal normal life game.
Sometimes, shit happens. :D

I would have to be some sort of mmo game as that's been my favorite type. But I'd mix in ideas and features from other genres too.

Starting with completely customizable bodies, be who you wish to be and right down to the private little details. Chance to upgrade and change and mix it up a bit later.

Since this is a social game, have voice without needing voice chat programs so people can hear you talk.

A persistent world that you can build in and show off your home and territory.

Beautiful lush scenery and sunsets. You'd need the best graphics card to thoroughly enjoy.

Dragons to slay! Or bosses for rewards...

Pvp! Nothing makes me more wet than someone who can pvp very well.

Costumes, skins, etc... achievements to work toward...

lol, Wow, first reply sounds like an actual hardcore gamer.

Completely customizable bodies sounds great to me.
Any game where there's a create-a-mode, I'm in.
lol, I can always be found in games creating my characters to perfection or tweaking custom levels.
If I was better with programming, as in it made more sense to me than advanced ancient Egyptian heiroglyphs, I would be making my own games. :D

I'd be curious as to how the voice chat without some kind of team speak program would work.
Maybe there'd be some kind of in game radius where your voice could be heard depending on how loud you got.

Building a home and showing it off is totally my thing, and that's probably why I play Minecraft. :D
Goes along with that create-a-mode addiction.
In an RPG setting with high end graphics, that would be neat.
Wish I had a high end computer so I could play your game. :D

And dragons, I'm sold.

I'm playing Minecraft on dino steroids atm! (Ark: Survival Evolved) And when you are close enough to other people, or flying by them on your pteranadon, simply press B and speak and they can hear you. If you fly away their voice will get quieter and quieter until you can't hear them anymore. The other night we did karaoke night in game on my beachfront marina with torches lit and stars twinkling and the waves lapping at our feet. :)

Been playing this game just the past month, it's in early beta.

I saw that game for the first time only yesterday browsing Yogscast videos and it looked neat.
Seems like you can get pretty wild with character creation, which I liked.
Didn't see much in only a 15 minute video, but seems like it could be fun.
I know it's beta, but you can see it needs refining.

I doubt I could play it on my computer, though.
I'm barely handling Minecraft at over 25 FPS, sometimes lower than that.

I don't think we'll find many other gamers in these forums. However I do know of two that posted here in the past week, and maybe a dozen that pm'd me also in the past week wanting to know of what games I played. So there are gamers out there!

Most of my old gamer friends who've watched me stream Ark have ended up playing with me. We need more women in our tribe, I can't handle all these lonely boys on one island!

Sadly, I'd be something akin to candy crush or farmville. My like feels very Zynga.

lol, What about men playing female characters? :D

I was addicted to Candy Crush for two weeks. But I kept feeding it money so I knew I had to stop.

Yes, half the guys in my tribe are men with outrageous sized boobs. But you can tell pretty quickly they are guys. And remember in this game, you can hear voices.

I can imagine it's offputting when a gruff male voice asks you if he looks fat in that animal skin.
