Something my grandmother used to make. I think it was beaten egg whites and sugar. Not as stiff as a meringue and served with a custard sauce. It was nice and light, usually served after a roast beef and Yorkshire pudding dinner.

My grandma also used to make us meringues. But not the solid/stiff disgusting kind that you see in supermarkets.
They had a thin crust on the outside, and they were goeey / syrrupy on the inside.
Absolutely delicious… .
