The wrong number? Maybe not?

In a time before caller id and answering machines became a household item many people fell prey to wrong numbers and prank calling with no way of figuring out who it was. But what if the call wasn't a wrong number and it was meant for you.

Our main character, Leonard, can't get a good night's sleep because for the past week his phone has been ringing at all hours of the night. When he answers it all he hears at the other end are the lascivious moans of a woman masturbating.

What can a guy do? He needs sleep but how can he hang up on such a sexy display? Who is this woman and how can he find out her identity?

Well that wouldn't make for a good story. And what if she keeps hanging up before he can ask?

It would make a very good story. She's moaning, and he says, "Excuse me--I love your moaning; it's hot. But I need some interaction here. We can make this good for both of us." Etc etc etc. She wouldn't hang up. This is fiction, remember?

He calls the operator. A minute later

"THE CALLS ARE COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE! YOU HAVE TO GET OUT OF THERE!"

"uhm...I think I'll be okay."

"Oh, sorry, just always wanted to say that."

Then it turns out it's his sister's friend. She snuck in and has been using another house phone to call the main line.
