As a people, we are fighting to maintain the Heaven-ordained supremacy of the white man over the inferior or colored race; a white flag would thus be emblematical of our cause. Such a flag would soon take rank among the proudest ensigns of the nations, and be hailed by the civilized world as the white mans flag. As a national emblem, it is significant of our higher cause, the cause of a superior race, and a higher civilization contending against ignorance, infidelity, and barbarism. Another merit in the new flag is, that it bears no resemblance to the now infamous banner of the Yankee vandals."
That is the full quote, but he did not design the flag in that MEME.
Nope, the Southern Cross, which was incorporated into Thompson's flag was designed by William Porcher Miles, a "Fire Eater" secessionist that wanted not only to preserve slave ownership in the South, but to restart slave trade and bring in new slaves. Miles was a white supremacist who thought slavery was a "Divine institution" and that, "Men are created neither Free nor Equal." It is absolutely clear that his secessionist ideas were rooted in the idea of white superiority and anti-abolition beliefs.
Thompson knew what the flag meant. So did William Porcher Miles, So did the Confederates. So when right-wingers defend that flag as "just heritage," it seems reasonable to surmise that they know precisely what that heritage (and that institution) means.
I wonder how many people it occurs to that slavery is featured prominently in the bible
So Can we use that 'supremacist' angle to get that piece of racist, sexist and homophobic propaganda banned once and for all?
I am Satanist and it offends me. Where's my rights dammit....
Oh, wait, its not trendy to dislike the bible....yet.

There's no misinformation in my post. I'm not sure what the "nope" for was. If you think in someway I was defending any version of what became the confederate flag, you're mistaken.
