How is it funded?

One of the surprising things about Literotica is that it's just the way the internet was when I first started using it back in the late 1990s.

That is to say...there are no adverts!:)

I'm not an IT tech person but I know hosting a group of forums (fora?) isn't free, especially a large site like this.

How on earth do the owners of the site provide this much internet for free without bombarding us with adverts and pop-ups etc?

Laurel puts Manu on cam for 60 tokens a minute.

Laurel receives royalties derived from sales of the Literotica Story Anthology (versions 1 and 2). She's living large from that book.

Essentially, it is a money laundering operation. It isn't supposed to turn a profit.

If you will clean my pool and keep me nice and smooth, I will add you to my payroll.

Again, the pay is shit but the benefits are amazing! :)

Negotiations.

Will also need you to cover my travel expenses. TX to PA is kind of far.

Corner of Santa Monica & Highland...

...just ask for "Laurel".

I've asked myself this many times. As the owner of a large website myself, I know how much hosting is. I don't get it, I really don't. Not holding my breath on anyone in charge enlightening me either.

Again, there are ads. And an impressive video library that pay for by the minute.

Maybe they only visit the boards....all the ads are on story side.

Yes, I believe you're correct. I only discovered the other part of the site last night after wondering "Where on earth are all the stories?" I had wrongly assumed they posted on the boards and I imagine I'm not the only one who was unaware of the other sections of the site.

Actually I guess I need to remind everyone who the driving force of income is for this site. Without this author and all of his hundreds of stories we wouldn't have this fine site.

That's made my morning. :D
This is either the most satirical piece of humour I've ever encountered from an American (not something you guys are known for) or it's the most chortle-worthy, strange-but-true fact I've encountered in many a year. Either way, well done.

All the revenues are from the ad-banners on the website. Of course, the forums are ad-free, but the main advertising is on the story side.
