Grateful Dead To Play Their Last Concert

just hope they don't pull a who. half the fucking band died and pete's deaf as a post and they still did one more damned tour. greedy fucks.

Q: What did the deadhead say when he ran out of pot?

A: "This band sucks!"

Never, ever been what anyone sane could classify as a Deadhead...

...but that poster is as good as it gets as a classic, visual representation of the unparallelled quality of the state of organic American rock music at that time (1973).

In fact, now that I think more on it, other than a very, very few of their actual tunes (relatively compared to their entire body of work)...

...the Dead's visual presentation, especially during their formative and establishing years, is the only thing I've ever truly treasured them for.

It'd be interesting to see what the present value would be of an original of the same poster above, in that same outstanding condition...

...perhaps it's just the natural simpleton me, but the art quotient contained within it equals, at least, any so-called masterpiece I've ever seen.

Some bandanahead was regaling me in a bar with tales of how he spends his life following a group--Widespread Panic? Can't remember--all over the country and taking acid and making recordings. For some reason that lifestyle invented by the Dead followers seems to attract a percentage of stoned youth, generation after generation.

Phish fans too.
