I've been awake since 2 -- beach house in a congested village is much noisier than ATL. Here people are out on porches and gathered around firepits in yards whereas in ATL, neighbors are indoors in the air conditioning. It's a treat to have windows open to breezes off the water, but it's an adjustment to hear so much activity.

my dear departed dog used to just hate fireworks. I prefer those sounds to drunken angriness. Drunken silliness is one thing, but anger in close quarters freaks me out. Wasn't hearing that last night, but in previous years.

the city keeps me awake at night now

those those damn birds at 5 am are a bit annoying when trying to sleep through four day weekends which this summer is full of/

no travelling in my forecast so may as well make the work week as bearable as possible
