Let's talk hair dye.

I see more and more celebrities that leave a large amount of roots showing in their hair. It use to be terrible to show roots. Is this a new trend?

I think so, but I have seen some people dye their hair that way when I am getting my hair cut.

I think it's weird, but them again, my hair would probably all break off if I dyed it at all.

I have silver threads in my hair, but they are baby fine, like all of my hair.
It does not show very much.

If I use dye, it will disintegrate.

Henna was fun, but I like my scalp to be free to do the natural thing.


Then, again, I wish I were young enough to wear the sand painting style of coloring.
We did not have that, when I was a youngling.

I grew up in a beauty shop. Roots drive me nuts.

It has something to do with video recording and blonde hair.
When done correctly, it defines the part in the hair, and
provides contrast to blonde hair.

Otherwise, the blonde hair blends with flesh color and there is not enough definition to see where the face begins and where the hair ends.

(Not to mention, the effect of looking like she is wearing a hair helmet.)

Dark undercoat, gradual darkening, dark streaks, all help to provide "borders."

I would have thought that HD would make it easier to see everything clearly,
but, it seems to have made everything complicated.

What you see, and what camera sees, are two different things.

OTOH She should fire her stylist. It is an example of what not to do.
Completely incorrect execution and not flattering.

Ugh. This look is awful. I don't care what fancy name it's called. If you want dyed hair, you must be prepared for the upkeep of the roots.

The younger generations are not confined to conventional hairstyles and colors.

Youthful faces can carry off startling looks.

i experimented tons when i was younger. so many colors. from down the back natural to shaved and then spiky. here's my grievance. yes. i know wild colors are "in" right now, but i see so many people doing it horribly. it hurts. i want to say, not everyone can pull off purple/blue, and you definitely can't. sorry. then it starts to fade out unevenly, and it looks like shit, and they don't get it redone. it's a pet peeve.

i actually don't mind it. hell, in a way it's almost more honest.

and it's better than dying your hair platinum blonde. that color of hair does not exist in nature and just isn't as cute as koolaid colors so fuck it.

and i shave my head because i fucking hate combing my hair. also, rinsing shampoo out of long hair is a huge pain in the ass.
