I am 41. Recently separated.

You will have to get over your shyness if you want to get laid. Aggressive women have lovers, shy women have toys.

Here's a suggestion, assuming he gets sweaty mowing your grass. Offer him the use of your shower to clean up. Make sure there aren't any towels in the bathroom so you have to bring him one. It worked for me.

Sounds like you are both enjoying it so I don't see any reason for you to stop...enjoy yourself.
 
In my humble opinion enjoy it as it plays out either way. Life is too short to pass up opportunities and that leads to regrets.

As far as the bird in the hand thing, I always thought a push in the bush is better than two with the hand.
