Oh, thank goodness! I seem to alternate between silence and logorrhea.

I think you're stuck with me. Alex. You've been such a loyal friend, how could I possibly boot you from the club?!

Awww, how kind, babe! Thanks!

Smiling...

Wow... Polish grand names? I'm glad my sons aren't in a hurry to make/adopt babies, but selfishly I long to be a Nana.

Oh I have LOTS of ideas. I think there's a nap time dream movie in my future...

That's pretty exciting to think about ;)

You would make such a good grandmother, I can imagine the stories that you would read to them.

now that my Qi buddy has returned to Boston, the girlfriend brigade is stepping up to entertain me while Husband is away....

Saw "Far from the Madding Crowd" yesterday with a bookclub friend. I'm a Hardy fan -- nothing like melodrama and angst -- plus there's something special about outdoor lustiness and period costumes. [Cue "The Lusty Month of May"] Then dinner with other book club friends last night. This morning, I piggybacked on the joy train of two grandmothers greeting their year old granddaughter at the airport. It meant leaving home at 5:45, but those happy faces were well worth it. Plus I got to shop at a toy store for the first time in ages. Not sure I'll ever be a grandmother, so I wiggle into others' Nana moments as often as I can. A celebratory pic seems in order.

You and me both Mara! I want to be a grandma so bad, I miss having kids around. Son swears he's not having any. :( I babysit the neighbors baby to get my baby fix.

So happy your friends are stepping up and you're having a good time!!:heart:

Your celebratory photo has everything, a suntanned delight, a refreshing glass of wine, and a stimulating view of your breasts. I could go on.

you're making me smile
thank you

:)
One great-grandmother lived until 95 years old, damn tough Polish woman. I was 27 when she passed.

Yup, "Jah-jee" I would have been, might be. Dunno.

whoa...
thanks for the pronunciation guide! laughing
we'll never be able to foretell what those young'uns will get up to, right?!
just hope we're compos mentis enough and physically able enough to enjoy whatever comes...

Now there's a word you don't see much of......and for the record I like your long ramblings and word smithery that I would never describe as verging on bipolar....but sometimes the silence says so much more xxx

I'm so glad
I find I'm taking a dart and retreat approach lately with AmPics, retreating to my cave for periods, then emerging in a flurry of comments and/or posts. I do enjoy my silence though. I far prefer to listen than to talk. Friends call me a gifted listener, and I treasure that designation.

That's pretty exciting to think about ;)

on massage day, I don't nap... timing doesn't work
however, I am delightfully oiled up and relaxed [fuel for your own mental movie-making -- HA]

You would make such a good grandmother, I can imagine the stories that you would read to them.

oh darlin, yesss... I kept two shelves worth of favorites from sons' childhoods, and just think of all that's been published since then! children's books are such a wonderful art form.

Yes, I feel for you. My 25 year old says he doesn't know if he'll ever want kids. The 28 year old is more interested, but has never managed a relationship longer than four months, with the exception of the granddog! I was in my 30's when they were born, so I'll be an older grandmother if it ever happens. My mother was 21 when I was born, so she was a young grandmother -- inspiring, involved, and very active. She was just so good at it, her example is a big part of my desire for that role.

what a wonderfully delightful picture of the less the month of May.

I tend to read in daylight before my eyes and my brain get tired!

I'm one of those, "Oh, since I'm awake, let's see what I can read in the book/magazine/on the Nook before I fall back asleep" people. Always read whenever, where ever I can.
