Indeed I did and it was nasty but I'm better for it.

My 1966 Volkswagen 1300 broke down all the time. I became quite the roadside mechanic. :rose:

would it be impolite to ask why?

i think i agree... though it seems such an odd thing to say.

I am more inclined to worry needlessly when my life gets too stressful, I think I've learned how to balance but of course it doesn't matter what I THINK I can do.

Define "breakdown" if you could. Do you mean hospitalized or just having a rough time?

Fuel pump relay in the PU went south. Mentally - no (at least not that I'm aware off).

there's a hell of a big space between those two!

I know! I've known two people who had nervous breakdowns and were hospitalized so when I think break down I think of that kind of thing.

For me a breakdown was not to that extreme. It was more ~ lost my sense, cried too much, was preoccupied and couldn't sleep when something really upsetting happened.

When a 30-day stay in an institution seems like a welcome break from your life, and you wish for it, that's bad, right?

I've come as close as I can imagine possible. Too much abuse and negligence and

ignorance. I was too young to really understand.

I was going to quote some Tom Petty lyrics, but everyone is being all serious and whatnot so I'll take my dipshittery on down the line.

Not at Lit. I had a panic attack once. That's probably as close to a breakdown as I've had.

No.

I came very close...realized I need some help.(stress)

Spent thirty six days in a psych ward, then they made me go home...the bastards!

I did manage to get laid while I was in there...heck in the years after I had sex with four more ladies I met there...and married one.

Snort! A hell of a way find dating material!

No.

Over the years I've known several that have had breakdowns. Two resulted in suicides. In about half the cases the signs were all there, the other half came right out of the blue, no outward signs at all. The two suicides fell into the 'out of the blue' column.
