A year or so ago, my wife and a few of her friends from our close circle got together and sent the husbands away on a awesome golf trip for fathers-day. A few less than intelligent posters tried to explain how this made me a asshole for being away from my daughter on fathers-day. Then went as far as to explain what I should be doing with my family which included things that we do pretty much every weekend. My only guess is they only spent time with their fathers on "special" weekends.

This year the guys have decided to to return the favor and our sending our wife's on a rather awesome spa weekend getaway.

So am I the bad father for sending my wife away on a rare get away or will she be the bad mother for not doing what she normal does with the kids 51 weekends a year?

Of course, hot life guards and messages therapists is how we picked the resort...... We did get them a 2 bedroom suite to share. Champagne, strawberry's, and flowers will be in their room upon arrival. Imagines of pillow fights in teddy s are already running through my head. Cause we all know that's what you girls do.....

Children were never more than an afterthought to you and your wife.

If you and your wife didn't love your children enough to get health insurance for them, we shouldn't be surprised that both you and your wife want to spend time away from them on Mother's day and Father's day.

Personally...I would pick a weekend other than Mothers/fathers day because the kids like that day to be special with their parents.
