No, not really. My friend's son is XXY. He has klinfelters syndrome. 1 in 500 boys are born with an extra female chromosome. Some scientists believe Klinefelters may contribute to gender confusion.

Despite the fact that I am not into the Kardashian craze (nor the rumors of a Bruce transition reality show), at least the public nature of Jenner's transition is bringing gender issues into general conversation. Gender preference, dysphoria, etc., are real issues for a lot of people. Up until now, it has been very rare that it's ever come up at the dinner table of the average family.
I hope his situation helps more people become aware of the people in their family and circle of friends who are silently dealing with these issues, and help those who are silently suffering to find a way to express themselves.

He might be certifiable for the Kardashian thing, but not for the transgendered thing. I do hope he does it privately with occasional updates and not on a reality show, because he should honor the process and validate it for others instead of sensationalize it.

Being trans isn't a mental illness. I think it's time for some people ignorant of what it means to be trans to become better educated on the subject. I found the interview incredibly informative and Bruce Jenner to be incredibly well spoken about all she's gone through. She doesn't deserve to be the butt of late-night jokes. It's complete bravery what she did through this interview, even if it's partly to launch or boost a reality show.

Yes, I believe some adults are aware of many abnormalities that comprise the gray areas outlying black and white...
...that's why they're called abnormalities, because they lie outside the massive norm.
This "transgenderism", or whatever is the most popular/acceptable/favored term to call it amongst its participants, fans, and supporters is, too, of course, an abnormality in a slight way...
...but in no way comparable in degree to a Klinfelter.
I doubt there're too many on the GB who are more ardent admirers of what Jenner did in the 1976 Olympics - it was one of those special moments in history, when man and fete produce perfection...
...now, Jenner tells us he's always been a woman, despite all the male stuff he's excelled in since (carousing around, marriage, kids), and that nonsensical promotion cracks the proverbial ice on this wannabe berg he's now floating.
I view him now as simply a guy who now wants to live like a woman (like millions of other guys before him - to lesser or greater degree). I don't care about his whys, I don't care about his wants - that's his business...
...just as I expect him - and everyone else - not to care about my whys or wants.
What disturbs me about Jenner's current trip is that he tries to make it sound like he's naturally felt like a woman all these years (even though they've been crammed-full of him definitely acting out as a man)...
...yet, with all the unnatural plastic surgery and treatment he's obviously undergone to massage his psyche into materially accepting that he can be a she, that naturalness he proclaims he's soulfully coming from is exposed as a lie.
If I naturally, soulfully feel like a woman...
...why would I need all that artificially, except to soothe my ego's mirror?
I don't see Jenner any different from the multi-millions of both women and men who spend fortunes on artificially making themselves look like whatever they're naturally not...
...and therein lies the problem, I believe, with Jenner and all those other wannabes:
Whomever they naturally are...
...they've either never met or they don't like enough to live with.
These are the bozos who truly give those actual abnormals among us such a bad rap.
