I read your support forum guidelines in which it stated in part: "You may not post sexually explicit stories featuring anyone under 18 years old."

Can I interpret this to mean I can mention a underage person as long as there's NO sex, or even sexual impropriety alluded to, let alone actually done?

My reasoning for the question above involves my then girlfriend, who later became my fiancée.. and is now my wife.

The circumstances of the above happened when I was stationed overseas while in the service. As a assignment given in school one day, the teacher decided to have her students (my wife being one of them at that time), write a "pen pal" letter to a service person stationed overseas. A bunch of us guys received these letters.. and I ended up with the one that came from my now wife.

For about a year or so we corresponded back and forth (with me still being overseas), until circumstances beyond our control ended our writing. It wasn't until some years later, when she was a adult, that we reconnected.

Once I get to the point in my (up to this point "plain Jane" story), where she's now a adult, I'll continue on in a more erotic fashion.

You can refer to characters who are not adults, but the simplest solution is to not mention any age under 18.

but as bronze said, its simplest just to not explicitly refer to her being under 18 when you met. you can still have the same story, just don't make mention of her age.

Condensed Version:

At eighteen I had just graduated from high school.. and decided to see the world, but had to join the service to do so.

Here I was overseas at the age of twenty-one, with a little more than a year of enlistment left to go.

At mail call one day some of us had been given letters from "pen pals".. mine being from a girl named AshLyn, obviously someone I didn't know. By her hand writing it seemed as though she was quite a bit younger than I.

We corresponded back and forth for over a year until her letters inexplicably stopped. I was surprised when, 5 years later, I received a high school graduation invitation from her.

With nothing else to do.. and being I was still single at the age of twenty-seven, I thought "what the heck. Why not?"

Etc., etc., etc.

As you can see, I haven't mentioned her age.. but with a little subtraction here and there one can easily figure out her age throughout this first part of my true story.

This is the first story type question I have ever seen that wasn't absurd.

As long as there is no sexual connotations to it, I can't imagine why it would be a problem.

I think it should be OK. Yeah, I mean, with math people will figure out that at some point the character was under 18.

But that's kind of how time works, right? Like, every character - every human ever - was at some point below the age of 18. Stating that somebody at some point was below the age of 18 is OK (I THINK) as long as nothing happened with them and it's pretty clear nothing does happen til they're legal.

Reasonably sure I could write a story and say, "I met James through his sister, who was my best friend ever since I was 12. But it wasn't until he went away to college that I..."

This is my perspective. The only person to give you a real definitive answer would be Laurel though, she is the owner of the site. Send her a PM - she's very helpful and friendly.

this is a porn site, and you asked for commentary regarding your story involving your wife as a minor. if you don't want people sexualizing her as a child, don't write about it. don't get pissed at LTR when you are the one asking for info on how minors can be included in your written porn stories.

I have numerous stories with kids well under the age of 18 as characters that range from little more than mentions as they're shuffled off to school to a main character beginning the story at age 5. So long as there's nothing remotely sexual in the interaction, there's no prohibition on having characters under 18 as part of the story.

Your example is perfectly fine, and I would guess relevant to the eventual sexual interaction between your characters. ( above the magical 18th birthday, of course )

For future reference, you'll probably want to bring questions like this to the Author's Hangout section of the board.

I try not to mention anyone underage, ever, even if it's a minor character or bit player that is only there to move the plot along like someone working in a store.

The only exception was for the Busty Babysitter, because, well she was a babysitter. Anyone ever had an issue like that? And it's only in passing like...Rachael was busy in the other room with the children...that kind of thing, but other than that I go way out of my way to NOT mention anyone that could even be under 18. I explicitly make every person in high school a high school senior who is 18 and usually they're freshmen in college age. I find that I just don't need to tell any story that has any issues that I can't work around that way. I have thousands of ideas and not enough time to get caught up in a minor detail. Just my 2 cents.
