Most GB posters are alcoholics

'I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up, that's as good as they are going to feel for the rest of the day.'

'I'm not an alcoholic. Alcoholics go to meetings. I'm a drunk.'

Maybe I just post for myself and that's good enough. *drinks*

*drinks again*

Ouch, man. :(

I meant the other Miles, silly! You've obviously never read him.

<Ominous voice.> No-one has. </om.v>

Everyone reads you. You ought to sell the syndication rights to every other thread.

Well cheers, I'll drink to that! :D

<Sotto voce.> I was originally going to write...another name...but then he...

...posts a tiresome quotation about my incessant stalking of him.

So, I decided...

...to go with the second most dreary conservative in all Christendom.

I love when you encourage me to drink.

So let's drink until they get here... and continue celebrating once they've arrived!

There is no single other additive more destructive to interpersonal human relations of all types than alcohol; it's contribution to the criminal mind is legendary; it's wholesale devastation is chronic...

...yet, here on the playground, it's a joyous toy to played with.

And still there are those who wonder why every succeeding generation is condemned to alcohol's curse, too...

...as their ancestors insist it's not a problem for them at all, that their dependency is actually an enormously enjoyable elective.

Friggin' bozos no different from a doublespeak Budweiser ad championing, Drink responsibly...

...to suckers born every minute.

I agree with you. Generation after generation numbing the pain and escaping reality.

As opposed to using religion, the opium of the masses, to do the same job?

Alcohol has opened the mind for millennia. It's in the Bible, Greek and Roman literature, Shakespeare and Donne, Keats and other luminaries. But I'm sure you know better!

A certain Mr. Churchill spoke the truth................"I have taken more good from alcohol than alcohol has taken from me.".............

I couldn't have said it better myself. Bravo.
