Walking Dead RP OOC (for Halloween)

Right. Im sure we can come up with something. Should we start today, where we left off?

Nope, Jessa can't be resurrected, I just read the last posts. A bite in the throat by a walker is pretty definitely. So I am afraid you have to create a new character, Jessi.

If we restart this thread, that is (I would like it, we wrote a nice story) if we start a new one with the search for the generator you don't need a new character.

But I really would like to have some time for us all to work out the characters, to "paint" the lay-out of the town and such. That are things neglected until now. We also need to link to the posts with descriptions in here in the first post of this thread and the IC thread. Which is a bit difficult, since Wyld isn't around.
It might be easier to start a new OOC (with a link to here) were we organize things a bit better?

*hugs and kisses Feisty's forehead* Welcome back. Well I'm good for whatever you guys decide to pick things up.

Would anyone object to starting a "new" rp with the search for the generator? I really hate the idea of writing w/out Jessa. If the story progressed much beyond that then we can move forward. Also, I agree that we should maybe start a new OCC thread to help "flesh" out the characters and settings to help them to come out in the rp.

A few thoughts:

New thread, starting with the search for the generator;
IC:
*A first post with an introduction to the story, a short summary of what happened.

OOC:
* First post: Explanation, links to IC and here.
* Second post: links to character descriptions (new and/or old)
* Third post: town, links to descriptions, pictures of buildings
These posts in the OOC should be made by someone willing to spend some time on it, willing to check the IC and the OOC regularly for descriptions, and willing to copy-paste parts from the IC to posts in the OC and link them.

Even if the one going to do this doesn't have much time now, he/she should make these three posts to keep it organized. Only from the fourth (or maybe fifth) post discussion and character sheets should appear. Like I did here.

That way a new writer only has to check these three posts to get all the information needed to join and the "crew" has it a lot easier to check things too.

What are your thoughts? Post and I'll add them here, or quote/multiquote as needed, so that we have it all together.

I am all in for refreshing the OOC/IC threads and getting things going. Explain away the absence of all the rest of the players who have left in those initial posts and then move on from there. We can step back to Jessa and Aaron going to check on the generator if everyone agrees on that. Other then that, perhaps we still move towards having a horde come through to explain why the group has been reduced so much. Either that or we just insert editorial supervision and say these other characters no longer existed. I'm good with whatever direction is agreed upon.

I would say a summary in the new thread, with a mention of the previous attacks. Then, as Aaron and Jessa look after the generator, the next attack. But now Aaron saves Jessa, or she saves him, they note the commotion outside, get to the roof somehow, and help the three up there fight the attack off.

Afterwards, they find corpses ... But then we need some time to work out the town, get supplies and such. No wonderfully spared well stocked places this time though. Just a few things here and there. Maybe a filled larder, a well hidden pack ammunition. Jack still has the truck with the trailer. Enough ammo and food.

I think we keep the rule "one week no posts in the IC without a post here telling why, means your character gets killed by the walkers"?

I dunno...maybe that creates unnessecary pressure to write?

Mm, a little note here, saying you won't have much time and tell the others to include your character in their posts isn't putting on pressure to write (long) posts?

Do you guys want to use the same setting or come up with a different place? The place we had been in kinda reminded me of the area right off the edge of a highway, which I am familiar with as just having two or three gas stations near, a few fast food restaurants, and some hotels. Basically it was just the outskirts of a city, while the main area was usually two or three miles further away from the highway, depending on how big the city was.

I think it's a good jumping off point. I mean if we're already settled somewhere there's less possibility for adventuring.

If we start with the generator-check and an attack, we would start with an adventure.

We also could start anew, with our characters meeting somewhere, like it happened on the existing IC?

Keeping the same area, with the generator check is fine with me. So is starting completely fresh with relatively the same characters. I'm flexible.

I'm good with the generator check start. After all, we may have a settle point, but there's always room for new adventures.
