The Official Author's Hangout 2015 April Fool's Day Contest Support Thread

Is there some criteria other than the score for determining the winner? I hate to sound like a sore loser but my story has a higher score than two of the winners (and passed the25 vote tthreshold). Just wondering.

I think everyone's score fluctuated quite a bit the last day or so. Mine shot up from 4.70 to 4.79 early this morning. I suspect the winners' scores did the same thing after the last sweep, but that change will not be reflected on their profiles until tonight.

Congratulations, AMoveableBeast, masterandmargarita, and silkstockingslover! All very deserving of their honor.

Congrats indeed to the winners!

First Place
The Grimm Reaper
by AMoveableBeast

Second Place
Treasure Beach for Three
by masterandmargarita

Third Place
"Stocking Tales": Boss's Pet
by silkstockingslover

And now some down time before the next contest. :)

Congratulations to all three winners, and to every one who took the time and effort to enter a story in the contest!

Congratulations to the winners!

It was an interesting contest - I wonder what people thought of it overall. I think it might be fun to rotate the theme of this one. I look forward to the next one.

Congrats to all, and especially to the beast. Your writing is superb.

Congrats Beast and everyone else too that entered.

Guess now I get to play catch up on my reading. I just couldn't get the Muse interested in this one, but looks like there are some awesome stories to work my way through.

Congrats to everyone, especially the winners. It was fun. I think my entry got the most votes in the shortest amount of time of any of my stories so far. Always nice to see feedback :)

Another interesting contest. I was pleased with my result, interracial not being a popular category, I don't think. Congratulations to the winners.

Please forgive my ignorance. I apologize in advance for my confusion.

I thought chapter stories weren't allowed in the Theme contests.

Stocking Tales? A three part series. Being that they are grouped together on his/her page isn't that considered chapters?

What am I missing? Is a series with three separate stories not considered chapters.

So...if I want to write a chapter story in the Nude Day contest, I need only call it a series? Is that it?

Boy, if I posted something like that, people would be all over my ass.

Anyway...congratulations to the winners of the first, ever, April Fools' contest.

"Hmm...just wondering out loud...I wonder if I wrote something like Mom & Son Nude Day 30 Part Series if that wouldn't be considered chapters and would be eligible in the contest."

The "Stocking Tales" things look at a glance to be stand-alone stories. All they share is a common theme. Stand-alone stories with a common theme don't fit any definition of "chapter" I'm familiar with, and the prohibition in the contest rules as I understand it was against submitting pieces of a multi-chapter sequential story.

My thoughts:

Stand-alone stories in a series ARE allowed IF they can be read on their own and in any order.

jeanne_d_artois' Laundry Tale 10 Lady of Misrule did not require any previous Tales to have been read.

We can't enter 3 chapters of a story that is only complete if you read all three, nor a single chapter for a contest that requires you to have read the previous chapters posted earlier.

I, and others, often use the same basic location and sometimes the same characters for a series of stories. The critical factor is:

Can this story stand alone?

If it can, it isn't a chapter.

Congratulations, AMoveableBeast, masterandmargarita, and silkstockingslover! All very deserving stories, well done guys!

Thanks so much for all of the congrats! It's been a blast hanging out on the forum and getting to know the other authors throughout the contest. Also, a huge thanks is due to one author in particular who offered to edit my British dialogue for absolutely nothing in return, even declining a mention in the story notes. I humbly suggest that you reconsider and take the credit that is due. Or stay anonymous - whatever you prefer, mate!

Thank you for the explanation.

Congratulations on the first-place win, AMB! ;)

Congratulations masterandmargarita, too, and silkstockinglover. Fine stories.

Congratulations, AMoveableBeast, masterandmargarita, and silkstockingslover!

Great job!

Thank you. I'm honored and humbled. Congratulations to the other winners, and to any writer who was brave enough and giving enough to share his or her work in the contest. There are so many quality writers here.

Thank you for letting me tell my little stories with you.

A.I.R. 2015 SEXY APRIL STORY CONTEST

still #1

On behalf of all of us associated with the ASSOCIATION of INDEPENDENT READERS I'd like to offer congrats to the OFFICIAL LITEROTICA winners (except for the cheaters).

I’d also like to post the SEXY APRIL CONTEST winners as picked by the ASSOCIATION of INDEPENDENT READERS. These selections are not official LITEROTICA winners. Instead they were designed to reward stories that were the true #1 choices of our readers. Least read stories don’t make it over here!

And isn't it great to see MANU Award winners among this list?- stories our readers love but the powers that decide contest winners in the LITEROTICA contests seem to hate.

We also like to take a second and ask all of you to remember the brilliant BOSTONFICTIONWRITER who was murdered over three years ago. RIP big guy.

For any newbies looking at the above post, all scouries contests are fake. Scouriesworld is an alt of scouries. The supposed association is fake, any and all awards and lists are fake.

I think you get the idea.

End of public service message.

Nice sweep went through last night.

Are folks gearing up for the Nude Day contest? My entry is back from the editor and already set up at a publisher's for release after the contest.

I'm working on a few for next month's ND contest.

I hope the official thread gets made soon.
