Anyone out there actually get off on their own stories?

Might be a weird question, but as the title asks - does anyone who write erotic stories actually get off while writing them or reading them after the fact?

I know personally that while I enjoy my stories and they touch down on categories I myself would read, they really in no way get me going. Even if they include my own fantasies. Maybe I like surprises too much, but I wonder if others feel differently. If so, I'm jealous.

Anything I write in the erotic vein has to turn me on first and foremost, so I certainly start out with ideas and scenes that get me randy. That said, by the time I'm actually finished writing a story it's generally become way too familiar ground for me to consider getting off to it.

Not all of them. And not the same ones every time. But some of mine feature open-ended situations suitable for cozy continuations. Every what-if leads to more possibilities.

Depends on the story.

If it's based on a fantasy that really affects me, then that can happen. It is inconvenient, actually, because it becomes a distraction. If the story is not based on a significant fantasy of mine, such as when writing collaboratively in someone else's fantasy, this is far less likely to be a problem.

Like PrincepsCyberius, it depends on the story for me. While I do accept ideas from others that I can incorporate into my stories. I rarely collab as it throws off my timing and I can't write on demand, so it ends up not affecting me at all.

That being said, being aroused while writing tends to give me focus on the imagery. Though this, I can provide more detail and thus paint a better picture.

I do get off on my stories (writing and reading them). They are so blatantly and shamelessly "written with my penis" that my wife is left with an almost insurmountable editing job with each new story.

That's actually the goal of mine: to write stories that turn ME on, that get ME aroused. IF they make others wet or hard, it's a coincidence.

There are certain readers on this site that think authors are supposed to write specifically for them. As if we are mind readers and know what their fantasies are. So this guy will comment on stories, saying how this part or that wasn't needed and or this didn't turn them on. or even criticize the fantasy itself.
Every single action, event, scene, word, or character was specifically written to arouse MYSELF - not the moron I'm referring to.

I get aroused, these are fantasies being written about. But I think maybe it's the editing process thst kind of numbs me to the content after continued re-reads.

I'm satisfied others get something from them, that's mostly why I put the work in.

Side note the number of 'yes' answers, short and to the point made me smile. Like some don't want to reveal too much.

Right. I find it frustrating that the user i was referring to seems to think I/we are here to cater to his fantasies (whatever they are) and comments on stories accordingly. so now i have to add a disclaimer letting readers know that what they are about to read was written solely to arouse myself and no one else. this in theory, would make that user's comments about why the mom slept with that guy, or why was this person involved, or this part was too much etc etc, null and void. sorry it's just been bugging me lately.

Right. in the end that's what needs to happen. I'm hoping the disclaimer on my new stories (mainly in incest category) will at least make the person think "you know? they're right" and move on. if not, that's fine.

I don't think I've ever "Gotten Off" on any of my stories, but I've enjoyed writing every one. Although it was a close thing when I tried doing LW stories, they were more of a mental exercise than anything else.

Needless to say my Non-Erotic stories were a completely different kind of enjoyment.

I cry, laugh and get aroused with all my characters. I become them, absorb them and transform them into a vision of a better me. Or maybe a me I desire to be. Or a me I would prefer to forget. Is there any other way to write?

Note: I just wrote ten pages I will regret in the morning. I'll erase it all and start again. Drunk writer writes better than I do. Sober writer will be jealous. Mr. Barcardi should be ashamed of his collusion.
