Literotica Not Removing Work When Author Request

Laurel I have had a difficult time having my work removed when requested. I had new stories post in front of old removal request. One time my request was even removed leaving the same chapter on the site twice. When I asked 'why' no answer was given. I am disappointed that what I worked so hard to create is not being released from Literotica. It makes me wary of submitting any more work. I know this is a common complaint and I think discourages writers from continuing on with Lit. I know it has me second guessing my decision to be a part of the writers at Lit despite loving the readers on the site. I am still waiting for my work to be removed despite submitting several request only to remain in PENDIND mode. Why does Lit refuse to remove works when requested? Freegirl2012

It sounds like you've gone through the proper steps for submitting a request for removal, so that's good. However, if you click on those "Pending" links, it sends your request to the back of the line. It's best to leave those alone until it changes to something else.

The best thing at this point might be to send a Private Message (PM) -- not an email from one of the site links -- to Laurel, who handles these requests. You can click on the "Private Messages" link at the top right of this page to send her one; just put "Laurel" (without the quotes) in the To: field. Then explain to her what the problem is.

Before you do that, make sure your PMs are enabled. To check that, go to User CP at the top left of the page, then click on "Edit Profile," then scroll down to see about Private Messages, and click the box to enable if it's empty.

Good luck.

Laurel has said that new stories take precedence over edit/removal requests, so that can be part of the reason why a new story would post before a story you requested to be removed.

You also need to be aware that edits and deletes can take from 24-48 hours to vanish from the public side of the site after they are processed and removed from the database.

I think this may be the case with your stories, as they're exhibiting some strange behavior. Normally, when comments are disabled, the comment form completely vanishes from the end of the story -- same for the voting form. In your case, links such as "show more comments" and "show all comments" are throwing me to a "feedback disabled" page, and stories with x.xx scores are still showing voting forms.

That is something I've seen in the past when a story has been edited in/removed from the database, but a ghost of the original still remains in the site's cache.

What RR said. In cases like these, you need a lot of patience. There are only two people running this entire site, and a contest just finished. Give Laurel and Manu a little time to catch their breath.

Considering that you posted this thread twice, I'm thinking patience may not be one of your strongest suits. That's not a personal attack; we all get anxious now and then. Just don't confuse "has not done it yet" with "will not do it."

I think that story posters shouldn't be expecting a whole lot of fast or efficient support in mucking around with their posted stories after they've initially submitted them. I don't think Literotica was set up to be a Grand Central Station of story movement.

Now, the comment form is there and if you post a comment a dialog comes up telling you the author has disabled comments.

So she has disabled voting and comment...

She must have been outed by someone...a family member, close friend, close enemy? Who knows? I hope she gets her wish and the stories are pulled.

Of course she could always...last resort...PM Laurel...last resort.

Possible, but unlikely. If you look at the comments, the author has been posting warnings that the stories were coming down.

I would expect in an emergency such as an outing, that would be the last thing on someone's mind.

Who's to say...she is running around like chicken with it's head cut off.

I have sent four emails over the past six months in regards to requesting if a change could be made to my account. I have never received any responses.

I'm not the best author, but I have been posting stories for a few years and I thought that might mean a little something.
