A while ago we had a period of conflict about what should be in the Loving Wives category. It prompted a lot of acrimony from all the different camps that post in that category. We had stories being placed in inappropriate categories (No sex stories placed in Erotic couplings)

Now it seems to be happening again but without anyone appearing to kick it off. I've just had six stories moved out of LW, mostly into wholly inappropriate categories. Yes I have asked Laurel what is going on but I'm also interested in whether anyone else has suffered this problem?

No. because, as PennLady posts, they should go to Non-Erotic, not Erotic Coupling. Erotic Coupling presupposes sex as well, by its very title.

I agree with PennLady. No sex should go in non-erotic or in some cases even romance. LW seems to need so controversy and disagreement between husband and wife. It's usually cheating, revenge, or somethng along those lines. Most readers in loving wife goes there to see what problems the couple have and how they go about settling their differences.

You will usually get a lot of reads, votes and if it's controversial, a lot of comments with the two sides arguing with each other. Best of luck in the placing of your stories.

More than a few top-rated LW stories contain little or no description of sex, but instead explore the consequences of alleged cheating or love. Sex may occur off-stage while the drama plays out front-and-center. IMHO the Non-Erotic category is suited for stories where sex is incidental, like my XYZ Bomber Journal -- the narrator gets laid but that's not the major theme.

Some other top LW stories actually ARE about love, not cheating. Imagine that!

A few readers looking for stroke stories will come across them and be disappointed but on the other hand the category police will be running around with their flashing red lights and little sirens pleased as punch because they got their way.

Who am I to deny them their little bit of glory?

The ones that were moved to romance will probably do better since Romance reader consistently score higher than LW.

I can't see EC if there's no sex. The site's description is: "Wild one-on-one consensual sex." While Loving wives is: "Married extra-marital fun: swinging, sharing & more." Non erotic is: "Fiction without a sexual focus."

I'm with PennLady on this one. A no sex story should go to Non-Erotic.

If it's got romance, then romance would be it. But it's just guessing on my part since I haven't read it.

Going back to the subject of LW stories, the actual description mentions "Fun". Not many of them have that component. In several other threads about LW, the subject has been brought up about having a new category devoted to the cheating wife type stories that seem to dominate the LW category. Or maybe change the description. But I know that the chances are slim and none that it will happen. Too many stories there already to start sorting them out.

Nope. Not one Non-Erotic story in his list. ( Unless he has alternate pen names. ) I see stories listed as EC that have descriptions suggesting they were originally in LW as well.

OK. But it's nonsensical to move something from Loving Wives to Erotic Couplings because it's nonerotic. It's right there in the title of the category. "Erotic" means sexually arousing and "coupling" means fucking. To be both blunt and accurate.
