Two facts never find homes in nigger minds. The Civil War didn't end slavery, the 13th Amendment ended slavery in every state. Until then slavery was legal in every state North and South, That's what the Dred Scott case was all about. In 1857 the Supreme Court ruled blacks weren't American citizens and had no civil rights. Lincolns Emancipation was worthless. Consequently Lincoln sold captured slaves, murdered captured slaves, and forced many into the Union army on threat of death. The South was more humane than the North.
When freedom came many Southerners favored it because they no longer had to feed anyone who didn't work. Slavery came with horrible overhead for planters. Kids hadda eat, old folks hadda, pregnant women hadda eat. Freedom ended the free ride.
