Another Republican who lived by the mantras, "Do as I say, not as I do" and "Revenue isn't the problem, spending is. Except for mine", will be resigning his seat at the end of the month after an ethics investigation was launched over his wild-assed spending on the taxpayer dime, including making his taxpayer funded office look like Downton Abbey as well as some vacation trips. The story:

Aaron Schock resigns amid scandal

By Dana Bash, Jeff Zeleny and Alexandra Jaffe, CNN

Washington (CNN)Embattled Rep. Aaron Schock announced Tuesday he would resign his seat at the end of the month, in the wake of a congressional ethics investigation into reports that he used taxpayer money to fund lavish trips and events.

In a statement, he said he was stepping down "with a heavy heart," having given his constituents "my all over the last six years."

"But the constant questions over the last six weeks have proven a great distraction that has made it too difficult for me to serve the people of the 18th District with the high standards that they deserve and which I have set for myself," he added.

Politico first reported on Tuesday afternoon that Schock would step down. The news marks the end of an embarrassing chapter for the former GOP rising star known for his Instagram account and a memorable shirtless appearance in a feature in Men's Health magazine.

Republicans close to Schock have said the biggest questions about his finances involve mileage reimbursements from a car paid by for by his campaign account. A Schock spokesman said Tuesday that the congressman had paid the government back for all of his official mileage, but the exact amount was unclear.

"In an effort to remove any questions, and out of an abundance of caution, Congressman Schock has reimbursed all monies received for official mileage since his election to Congress," the spokesman said.

P.S. Fox conveniently buried this story via a small, one line listing "below the fold". Apparently lavish spending on the taxpayer dime isn't a worthy story to report about if it involves a Republican.

and Hussein Obama and Mike Obama take TWO SEPERATE planes to the SAME destination the same day...not to mention all the vacations

isn't it CUTE how when any REPOH does something the usual suspects SCREAM BLOODY murder

yet, there side? HO HUM

Meanwhile wild assed spending Democrats without the integrity to resign themselves, remain on the job spending more than we take in.

Difference is democrats are honest about it......they tell you they want to tax/spend. Usually on public services/support of some kind. Like HC, education, regulatory agencies for the good of the public etc.

They don't talk out the side of their ass about spending and budget etc. slash taxes then indulge like the bawss hawg at the money trough and blow trillions on their own projects/schemes. Usually military/DOD, private prisons, bailing out wall st. bankers and of course making sure they can legislate scripture as close as they legally can.

You do understand the difference right there Cpt. Integrity??

PS: the resignation and the reasons why have been on Fox all day.

You're missing the point. Schock's wild-ass spending was on himself.

All politicians, regardless of party, are crooks. That's why they decided to become politicians.

It's so lame, simplistic, one-dimensional, and scape goating to just flip out that all politicians are crooks. Look what they have to work with to try to keep this complex system going--a bunch of couch potatoes who can't do anything themselves or say anything but that all politicians are crooks.

So, Washington was a crook? Jefferson was a crook? Lincoln was a crook? FDR was a crook?

The first two were not politicians. Lincoln and FDR were probably crooks, but their crookedness has been omitted from history books.

When I call somebody a politician, I mean that person makes a career out of politics, such as JFK and LBJ and Nixon and Clinton. I do not mean people who have a career before entering politics, such as Ike and Reagan.

I'm not the least bit surprised. Doesn't change my comment a bit.
