10 years of a lawsuit, a $9B settlement and Christie settles for $0.03 on the dollar. WTF is that? What a fucking dope.

Oh wait - a dope running for president in 2016. Gee I wonder where he will be on energy policy?

John Stewart breaks it down best

How the hell is this not on the front page?

Because Christie really isn't a factor in the candidates race anymore.

I would think that a sitting governor taking $0.03 on the dollar in a $9B settlement would be big news no matter what. Sounds criminal to me.

Do you have the actual information on what the settlement would be? Otherwise, I would have the tendancy to take what JS says with a grain of salt. It wouldn't be the first time he's manufactured some outrage for the sake of ratings..

Yeah, so? Christie is a crooked Jersey politician, no real news there. It's suffice to say that Christie is a non-factor in national politics anymore, at least as far as presidential aspirations.

Yeah, he just sucked Mobils cock and screwed the state out of many billions of dollars. That's certainly far less important than the emails of someone that hasnt even announced candidacy yet.

Fine, then I hope he enjoyed it. If he in some manner broke the law by taking illegal campaign contributions then the path is pretty clear. Otherwise, he is just another typical crooked politician and as such, well, People of Jersey, you got what you paid for.

Maybe so, but Clinton has been the D's go to candidate for the last couple of years. Since the Clintons, like them or not, have had a history of, shall we say, "questionable practices" while in office, doesn't it make sense to be sure she has a clean nose on this deal before they coronate her as "the candidate"?

First, Christie has not announced his candidacy, so he cannot be called a candidate. Second, he would not be a serious candidate even if he had announced. Third, that cash settlement is in addition to the expenses EM will have in cleaning up their mess. It remains to be seen what their actual payout will be. Fourth, you spelled "Jon" wrong.

I don't like her... and if I thought this was anything more than a silly political witch hunt I'd think more of it. I've already said, investigate her and penalize her (I'd say fire her, but some idiot already felt the need to remind me that John Kerry was sec of state...I won't mention his name, but he's a real fucking dumbass) then.... investigate every single politician in Washington the same way...and kick all of them out.

The focus on such minor shit while we have the PM of a foreign country on the floor of congress dictating policy, and have 47 senators trying to torpedo nuclear weapons negotiations, trying to shut the govt down fighting a solution to immigration, fighting AGAIN the aca that has given millions the access to healthcare, fucking workers out of their rights, nothing for the unemployed or raising minimum wage.... the list goes on.

But we got plenty of time to talk about hillary... yanno?

Who the fuck is christie to tell mobil that what was awarded them is too much? You don't see anything REALLY wrong with that?

Yes, I do, but we don't know the actual bottom line yet. We don't know how much the cleanup is going to cost, and it might be more than the amount of the lawsuit. Even so, I believe EM is getting a better deal than they deserve.

Ok...I agree.

I'd like to see some investigation into his interference...yanno, since we're suddenly so worried about everyone adhering to every single bit of the law.
