I mean, a way of blocking someone from posting on your threads, PMing you or seeing anything that you post, just as you would do on Facebook.

That is part of the problem. The GB always involves into some line drawn of "us" vs "them." This would have been far, far worse, if the person that the OP was complaining about was a GB regular with a cadre of fans.

I am not "with Killswith" or Funk or you, but in this case, I just don't think it is a bridge too far to say that I would rather people express a little compassion towards the trolled than to demand they suck it up.

There are those that I think a lot of that have come to the GB from elsewhere. I watch as even they will (in more modest ways) participate in the GB version of tough love. I just am not a fan of the influence the GB has. I like that it has become more playground, not because we don't already have a playground, but because it annoys those that treat this place as their own private enclave, repelling all those that "act butthurt."

It's a pretty ingrained culture of snark. I would encourage you to pick a few more people for your ignore list and wade right in to the GB. The only really safe way to remediate acid is through dilution.

I wouldn't make a career choice of it but stop back anytime if for no other reason it annoys the right people.
