The speculation from the beginning was that there wouldn't be many entries in this contest. Not many thus far, for sure.
I think TX Rad made a comment about lucky to see 18, think we passed that.
I haven't looked around at other people's yet, but my two are doing squat score wise. In fact my lesbian entry is doing squat in every way across the board.
Wonder if people are voting tougher because they are not liking "tricks"
As has been discussed a vast portion of readership really just wants the same story over and over and different seems to bother them.
No one's score is doing exceptional. Most are sitting right above or below the red H mark. Only one managed to get above 4.6 that I noticed last night.
"Deception" is a theme that is hard to please everyone with.
My incest story has a slight non con theme, not full out, but I can see where some might be able to see it that way and I know that even a hint anything other than 100% consent can give you trouble in that category and I'm seeing that, its about .15 lower than my average Mother/son effort.
The Lesbian story Sisters in Sin is a story that doesn't quite fit anywhere. The sex is Lesbian so that's where it ended up, but both reference sex with men and one is straight the other is secretly bi.
When we get down to it there is some reluctance involved. Problem is it 'softens' so its not enough for the reluctance crowd to like it, but a little to edgy for the Lesbian crowd to completely embrace it. There's some light BDSM overtones as well, but again not enough to go there.
That's the problem with a "hybrid" story.
The only thing that might be holding the score down is the protagonist eating his own cum; probably squicks some people out. meh.
My favorite so far is Amy Says Yes. Absolutely hysterical. I can't remember enjoying a story so much.
Your comment on "Amy Says Yes" really made my day, Carnal_Flower. Thank you so much for leaving it! Fetish seems to be a slow-voting, low-comment category, so there hasn't been a whole lot of comment or vote action, though the view count is fairly high.
I was up early as usual yesterday morning when the story was posted and was able to track the first eleven votes: seven 5s, one 4, two 3s, one 1 (accompanied by the usual ignorant snark, which I deleted), for an average of 4.18. Since then it has struggled slowly upwards only to take sudden falls (you all know the pattern), but has never broken the magic 4.5. I can't even begin to guess what the score will look like when the final sweeps are run ages and ages hence.
It's a high, entering a story contest. I hope it's not an addiction.

Fetish is pretty low voted. I put out a foot fetish story last year and it just hit 100 votes.
There is still plenty of time for people to enter and I am sure there will be a story or two that will start out lights out and stay that way.
But if it ended today the sweeps would be interesting because the entire thing seems low voted in both votes and scores on average and I am seeing more hate than usual in this one.
I think its the winter, people have had it with this shit, especially in the NE area
My only other Fetish story has 74 votes four months after posting, and yet it has done well in number of views and still gets a good bit of traffic. So I'm happy--though maybe a little ashamed of having written it.
No hate yet for "Amy Says Yes" (aside from the troll who hits all my stories and a lot of others too), but it's still early.
I should say thank you! I'm still laughing. I was really hooked from the beginning, but the email from the second frat dude really kicked it up a notch. Really great job. A perfect tone for April Fool's. I hope it gets more views!

I am about halfway through so far.
I'm glad you wrote it with a tongue in cheek style because normally stories where girls are that slutty get on my nerves(just a personal taste mind you, not condemning them in general) but this is close to satire its so over the top.
I did an LW story like that for V-day last year, it was so ridiculous you had to be a dope to take it seriously....But then again, look at the source...they spewed hate all over it because they just couldn't get it was a parody of sorts.
I love writing slut stories. I think it's connected with a suspicion that I wasted my young years in the pursuit of respectability, and now I wish I'd been a slut--not that I seriously think I'd choose differently if I had the chance. I get to live alternative lives writing for Lit. And then, writing humor I can take things over the top, both in the events of the story and in the language ("battering the posterior wall of her oropharynx").
I like your "Forced to Take My Mother," BTW. Good storytelling, good trick.
Thanks for reading it. You are in the minority.
The story isn't doing to bad, like it seems many stories in this contest its over the Red H line, but not by a lot and well below my average for that type of story. Again its just the idea that the son wasn't 'in on it' that can make some people think there was a little non con overtones and it goes to show how much the incest category squicks at non consent.
As for yours it was the whacky descriptions like the example you gave and the "undercarriage" line that really gave it a tongue in cheek feel to it. The sex was well described, but its hard to say it was totally hot when you're bursting out laughing. I'll have to read it again with a different mind set.
I thought mine would do well even with the twisted ending. The only thing that might be holding the score down is the protagonist eating his own cum; probably squicks some people out. meh.
I think it's so cool that you took the risk and kept that part in! I haven't read it (yet), but I just really admire writers who take risks, especially with erotica. It's ironic because on a high level the big allure with erotica is that it's transgressive, but even so, people seem to have an expectation that we stay well inside the lines. I am always a little surprised by this aspect of writing erotica. And I say that, but I have my own squicks (to be sure!). So I just want to recognize the creative courage it takes to decide -- fuck it! This character has to eat his own cum for the story to work!
It's only one sentence in the whole story. But it isn't buried in the middle. It smacks the reader between the eyes, third sentence from the end, just when it comes time to vote.
It wasn't a critical point to advance the plot, or a brave mention of a fetish, but rather an acknowledgement of physics. The woman he just fucked was described as sitting on the bed with semen oozing out a moment before and then she lowers herself onto his face, putting her sex over his mouth.
I could have ended right there, giving the reader a chance to block the idea from their mind. My muse wrote the ending, she was the brave bitch. She had the woman tell the man to "Clean up your mess." That's when the readers and I found out from his answer that the man didn't mind.
ETA: I'm submitting some late editing corrections. I'm also adding "Eating own cum" as a story tag but I don't think that helps readers in advance, only searches.
See? Recreational drugs. Go on a theobromos binge. Even mortals can do it.

Didn't gargle it, did you? Theobromos is cocoa, the food of the gods. I make sly reference to Kage Baker's COMPANY series of SF stories about manufactured immortals who get wasted/drunk on chocolate. A few immortals would wreak havoc at Ghirardelli Square.Am I missing something or do you mean thrombosis?
