Kerry Goes After Bibi In Congressional Testimony

No. I said Vettebigot's favourite racist rag the Daily Mail is.

So, all those Israeli security professionals are wrong, are they? Or maybe they're all anti-semites?

They're not wrong, they are entitled to their own opinion. I want to hear what he has to say, and then I will make a judgment.

Fact , he is running for reelection, and like all politicians, they spew a lot of shit to be elected. Not a shock here. Worse is, boycotting the speech, think that doesnt speak volumes?

US presidents don't meet with foreign political leaders close to those leaders' domestic elections. It's long running precedent whether you think Bibi is Hitler incarnate or Likud are a bunch of humanitarian saints.

He's coming, he's speaking!!

get over it!

It's just the convenient excuse thrown up by the Obama team who've spent six years campaigning for somebody's election after becoming President. The world doesn't stop just because a particular election is forthcoming. Obama is the first President I've heard using this excuse not to talk to Bibi, or any other world leader.

Sean and Slobdownsow are always annoyed that Israel gets special preference in the USA....its just chaps their asses.

US leaders shouldn't be meeting with foreign leaders who are currently campaigning for re-election. It makes it appear as if we are taking sides when we should remain neutral in the political processes of other countries. Especially when the leader is in a tight race, like Netanyahu is involved with.

Foreign leaders should definitely not be called in to speak out against the US President (which is his intent) from the well of Congress.

Abraham Foxman, leader of the Anti-Defamation League has said the speech should be cancelled, calling it a "tragedy" that politicizes Israel's relationship with America. It is impossible to get more pro-Israel than Foxman.

In Israel, several political leaders, some of them past allies of Netanyahu, have agreed with Foxman. Three Israeli diplomats have been recalled to Jerusalem for tweeting denunciations of the speech.

Bradley Burston, a U.S.-born Israeli writer, asked in the newspaper Ha'aretz how Netanyahu could dare claim to represent American Jews, most of whom voted for Obama, "in part because of Barack Obama's role in fostering security co-operation with Israel, including additional funding for the Iron Dome rocket defence system."

Even AIPAC, the influential pro-Israel lobby in Washington, has kept a careful distance from the event.

The last Israeli leader to tangle publicly with an American president, Yitzhak Shamir, lost his next election. Generally, Israelis understand that the American president has always been Israel's best friend — a recent poll suggests half of Israelis want Netanyahu to back off.

Yes, let's put off discussing the immediate security threat posed by religious fanatics with nuclear weapons on the future of my country until...the future.

You think Israel is going to launch nuclear weapons at the US?

No but I think they'll put them on Iran before they allow Iran to do the same to them.

Funny, because the only bunch of religious extremists with nuclear weapons in the region is Israel.

No but I think they'll put them on Iran before they allow Iran to do the same to them.

Iran has nowhere near the required enriched uranium needed to produce even ONE warhead. The enriched uranium they have is around 5%, suitable for Light Water Reactor use. Oddly enough, this is exactly what they have been telling everyone all along that they were working on.

We've been told for well over a decade that Iran is only a year away from having a nuclear weapon. They are no closer now than they were a decade ago.

Which religious fanatics have nuclear weapons capable of attacking the US?

How can American Jews possibly forgive this president's foreign policies in the Middle East? It amazes me to see those who defend him here.

Obama Threatened To Shoot Down Israeli Jets

The Bethlehem-based news agency Ma’an has cited a Kuwaiti newspaper report Saturday, that US President Barack Obama thwarted an Israeli military attack against Iran's nuclear facilities in 2014 by threatening to shoot down Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran.

According to Al-Jarida, the Netanyahu government took the decision to strike Iran some time in 2014 soon after Israel had discovered the United States and Iran had been involved in secret talks over Iran’s nuclear program and were about to sign an agreement in that regard behind Israel's back.

The report claimed that an unnamed Israeli minister who has good ties with the US administration revealed the attack plan to Secretary of State John Kerry, and that Obama then threatened to shoot down the Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran.

Did you bother reading the thread before jumping straight in to the already debunked c+p?

They forgave him by voting for him in two elections.....

Are you saying Iran hasn't attained the capability to put a weapon together? Did you hear this from Susan Powers? LOL:rolleyes:

The fact that they haven't paraded the damned thing down the streets of Tehran is a pretty good indication. Even your own C&P said Iran had enriched uranium to only 5%. A level which is useless for a weapon, but perfect for a light water reactor to generate power. This is consistent with the Iranian claims that it is only pursuing peaceful nuclear power generation research.

Once again, you're asking that I prove a negative based on your assertion. The burden of proof is on you. You're engaging in argumentum ad ignorantium, an appeal to ignorance (fitting for you), the claim that whatever has not been proved false must be true.

Because American Jews, for the most part, consider themselves liberals and progressives first and Jewish somewhere else down the line.
