This isn't an inn or a bar or a lounge. This is just a room with a circle of uncomfortable folding chairs around a table. There's a whiteboard on one wall and a pinboard on the other. In the corner there's a wastebasket with a tiny basketball hoop over it filled with crumpled up scribbled over pieces of paper. On the door is a dart board with a posted note with words writer's block on it perforated with dart holes. The only food or drink here is a coffeemaker that makes really really bad coffee and a box of doughnuts baked fresh a few hours ago. This isn't a place to flirt or relax. This a place to talk business.

This is a place as the title suggests for writers to come together with other writers to talk over their experiences in writing Sexual Roleplays. To discuss tips and techniques and thread and character ideas. Those dream threads you'd love to be a part of. To ask for help in posts that have you stumped. To be comforted when you are victimized by the dread scourge of writer's block, and to celebrate when you triumph over the dread writer's block.

So often writer's must suffer their angst alone-well, no longer. All are welcome here if they are writers or even have the desire to write something. So come have a seat and let's talk.

I come in and pull out some darts and start throwing them at the dartboard. I miss the bullseye with the post-it note with writer's block written on it covering it.

Damn it. I will get this.

Intrigued, I enter the room and set down my notepad on my lap, clearing my throat.

Hello Severus welcome to the writer's room. Care for some bad coffee while you work?

"Sure, thank you. And these old doughnuts. I see that they have some apple fritters. Nice, for old doughnuts. So, this is a working area," I note, "for writers and RPers."

Oh yes.

I pour some of the bad coffee into one of the Styrofoam cups and hand it for you, and also one of the apple fritters.

It is indeed a working area.

Take me, right now. I'm trying to get the wheels running on a post I owe, but am drawing a blank on it so far. It occurred to me all of us here in the SRP lounge is dealing with this in some fashion but they do so alone. That's why I made this thread.

How about you? The old writer's engine...

I tap the side of my head.

...running on all cylinders for you today?

A slight challenge for the post that I owe heartofcourage on Visitation Rights, but I hope to get it back on track. Of course, I had just written a chapter of a story, so I might just need to recharge the batteries.

Same here. I finished one and wanted to go right on to the next one I owe, but somehow I'm not gaining any traction on it right now. Maybe its writer's fatigue...I don't know.

Best of luck, man. Give'em hell.

Goes back to my darts game.

I see.

Mine is in the middle of a fight scene so I'm going to look up some great ones on youtube for inspiration.

Anyway this calls for a celebration. Opens a cabinet and pulls out from the secret stash a bottle of bourbon. Care for a sip of victory.

Ah, yes, thank you. Pours the sourmash for both and raises a toast....in contrast to the coffee, the whiskey is very nice indeed, high quality straight Kentucky bourbon.

Enjoys the good burn of the whiskey going down....

*sneaks in to verify that the maestro was indeed back from his vacation and grins*

Welcome back, Veroe! I know I'm too chatty for a place a serious place of inspection like this, but I just wanted to say hi.

So, hi... :)

The best part of being in the writer's room when someone finishes a post is you get a taste of victory too.

Pours myself a shot of the bourbon too and downs it slowly savoring the burn.

I put the bottle back into its secret hiding place.

There, now I need to get going on my own post. Wish me luck, Severus.

So, hi... :)

Oh yeah I got back home real early today, Angel. Glad you remembered.

Oh its fine for you to be here. You can chat away but whereas your thread is more free-ranging this thread has a theme to it. So if you can talk about writing you can stay in here.

Like say: Any Nana dancing for you tonight?

*makes a small face*

Unfortunately no... I'm in a serious state of :caning: at the moment. But I have heat again, so maybe I'll think better now.

I know how you feel. I got home just minutes before a storm hit here, literally got into the door just as the freezing rain started. Fortunately my power has not gone today even with all the ice and snow.

Luckier than a lot I know.

Care for some really bad coffee?

Considering what they found when they pulled the old furnace and its corroded duct work, I'm thankful we haven't had a fire...

Only if there's lots of sugar and creamer... It's the only way I can drink the stuff unless there's alcohol in it. :D

Sorry the bourbon is only for when you write a post.

I do have some sugar and creamers here.

Pours you some of the bad coffee into a little Styrofoam cup and hands you a couple packs of sugar and creamer and a plastic swizzlestick to stir it with.

No one knows yet what I got for someone who gets all caught up on their posts.:D

Oh, I couldn't drink bourbon... *whispers* it's purported to draw out zulbub even faster than tequila

*starts prepping the coffee with the necessary sweetness, stirring it carefully*

Hmmm, I am a wee bit competitive... Perhaps that's what I need to get my writing going again.

Well Severus just finished one and I've started another for Asa now. How's that for competition?

*throw up her hands in defeat*

Bah, you didn't tell me you had a ringer in the mix... There's no way to compete with Asa... She's a machine when it comes to cranking out responses.

Hiya, preacher, meet the choir right here.

Points my thumb straight at myself.

And you'd only compete with the people here in the room.

Though she's slowed down by a few minutes since only being able to post over her phone.
