We all know exercise is good for a good sex life but what kind of diet would be good to follow if you are a male and want a good erectile function?
I think a good balanced diet would be great for fitness but does anyone know specific food items that would help to keep older guys horny, hard and happy?

I would think that doing just what you're doing would be good for sex. Studies show that people who eat a healthy balanced diet and exercise tend to have better sex lives. As for something specifically good for boners? Perhaps food that promotes healthy blood pressure and circulation? I'm not an expert so I'm not really sure. I do know that when I'm more in shape and eating good food, my sex drive goes up. If I'm in poor health from eating crap food and stressed, my sex drive plummets.

Things I know or have heard.
1) fish oil, equal parts epa and dha.
2) zinc - supplement or natural source.
3) maca root, but research carefully.

One thing I'd want to delve into though is attitude. It is often assumed that men are just up and ready to go, and yes we often are. However, how you approach his penis is as important as how he takes care of it. I have had some ED issues but not for a few years. Different lover, different attitude. Previous one didn't pay much attention. I might be horny but lack of stimulation resulted in 'dissatisfaction'. She turned out to be a miserable wench. That "good diet" part is critical. Go easy on carbs, including grains, sugars, and alcohols. Don't overdo fats. Protein is your friend. Heed the Physics Diet: Consume more calories than you expend and you'll get fat (and repulsive); otherwise, you won't.

You might also consider which foods affect your body odors, flatulence / constipation, semen flavor, etc. If you're fit as a fiddle but you fart like a clydesdale, you might not get laid a lot. If you eat lots of asparagus you might not get many repeat blowjobs.

Okay, I'm not pushing any diet, that's for you to decide. This is just what I've experienced. I was struggling to lose weight. I was diabetic and in very sad shape. My endocrinologist asked if I'd like to try a diet with favorable results. I started on June 23rd last year and by November I had lost 70 pounds, and it was very easy. Minimal carbs and lots of protien. Oh, I'm no longer diabetic and I'm off all prescriptions. My endo does blood tests every 4 months and everything is in the normal zones. It's nice to be able to look down and see your cock. With 80 pounds in the way, well you try doing anything with 80 extra pounds.. Oh 10 more pounds and I'll be down to a 33 inch waist and my HS weight. Like I say diet but be safe and have a doctor monitor you.

I think you have a very good point, the lovers attitude is super important to how well one performs.
I have never heard about asparagus but I have heard about the blood type diet.
I need to diet a bit to reach my HS weight but I am not sure if all those 40 lb's need to go.
I plan to do the gym 2x per week this year and will see where it gets me. That and some balanced food.

I just wanted to hear what you people considered good food for keeping a nice boner.
 
I have found less alcohol and keeping my weight under control means more and better orgasms.

Diet low in carbohydrates and not overeating. Most of us usually eat more than we need to for good healthy life.
However, the best thing for better sex is having sex itself. There is no other area in life where the rule "use it or lose it" applies better. It goes for both, men and women. I "lost" it with my first wife and regained it with the current love of my life.

Sure. Slurp-down those oysters and asparagus. Get yourself psyched-up. Wait -- you might want to skip the asparagus. Oral sex will taste odd.
