Jesse J. was in Chicago today defending cheating

It was sad and disappointing. The black community won't advance until old racists like him are dead and gone.

Nah I'm just fucking with you Ann. I don't give a fuck about Jesse, or any other black spokesman.

I'm not into politics. But I'm interested in what he is talking about. What is he saying?

A Little League baseball team from Chicago won the championship last year, and it turned out they broke the rules by recruiting kids from outside their area to play on the team. Jesse thinks they should have kept the championship. All the players on the team were black, as I recall. Beat a team from Las Vegas for the championship that was mostly white.

Yeah that's some bullshit. A cheat is a cheat. If the Vegas team would've recruited people who wasn't in the area Jesse would've been calling for them to give the championship back. It's only cheating when you get caught (My motto). And they got caught so it's time to face the consequences. I agree with you all, that's some bullshit.

Jesse thinks you are. :D

Kids (especially from minority communities) have been going to out-of-district schools, whether for academics or sports, for decades.

I kinda mentioned this in another post, but Little league on the southside is broken up into 4 or 5 districts.

JRW is centered in a more "middle class" part of the southside and is the most organized and strongest of them. It's always been kind of a thing where kids who were really good wanted to play with JRW because it was the best and most competitive black Little league.
I mean when I was a shorty and lived like 1 mile outside the boundary, I technically should have joined Roseland LL, but in the 80's it was a joke, plus my dads friend coached in JRW so I used a diff address and played over there. I never had big league aspirations, just a kid playing a game, and I was far from the only one who's parents did the same.

Everyone knows this happens in youth sports leagues, it's why the National board blew it off at first. The coaches from Evergreen park wouldn't drop it tho and this is how we end up here.

This basically happens everywhere in youth sports, but people got mad because they formed a super team that actually turned out to be too good. Can't front on JRW for playing the game like everyone else when you're already in rigged situation, it just wasn't their rules to bend.

So, did the Chicago team break the rules or not?

Man fuck Jesse lol. But in all seriousness Jesse and people like him don't realize that they are doing more than good. They are increasing racism not decreasing it. Anybody that think someone deserves a special privileged because the color of their skin is racist. We all should be entitled to the same rules and regulations. We are all Americans at the end of the day, and that's the bigger picture. The only problem I have is with these cops killing blacks without no punishment. That just shows me that my life doesn't matter. But besides that I'm content. I'm not going to try to change the rules just because the person is black. I think racism will never end, because of shit like this. Wrong is wrong and shouldn't be justified by the color of someone skin.

Break the rules. Bend the rules. It changes very little if those rules are enforced selectively. This type of problem will still be commonplace regardless of what punishment this team receives. I wonder for what reason this particular rule was established in the first place.

I take it you think the rule is being enforced selectively. Any evidence of that?

Leagues recruiting outside district lines is just something that happens everywhere. I can think of my own high school for example, everyone knows it's goes on. No one really thinks much of it because there are ways around it, more affluent connected systems are just better at covering their asses. I.E. schools offering to relocate student athletes from _____ to a district of their chosing. This definitely happens at all levels, so I'm not surprised that kids from less established means want to play for the prestigious league. this being JRW an all.

Some schools/leagues can get away with it without anyone blinking. It is what it is . What JRW did, leagues have been doing for ages and better.

That is wrong. Little League is not like AAU. Traveling teams can recruit whomever they want. Little League teams cannot.

So then it appears you think the rule is being enforced selectively, in this case. Is it a stretch to go so far as to say you think it's being enforced selectively because the Chicago team was all black, and the Vegas team was almost all white?

I'm not a race baiter, so I wouldn't really know about any of that stuff, but I'm sure some leagues are going to have access to more opportunities than others based on geography alone. Chicago has a rampant gang violence issue , ontop of gerrymandering and super segregation that makes it harder for some leagues to operate to meet standards. Little league in certain areas is pretty much a dying pastime. Would you break the rules to help your community?

Man, is he fucked up. If the shoe was on the other foot he'd be the first to complain about whites cheating little black boys out of a championship.

I opened this thread thinking it was about the pop singer.

No, I wouldn't break the rules to help my community, but then I don't really consider myself having a community, actually. Certainly not a white community. But in addition to that, I don't see where winning a Little League championship is helping anybody's community. Even if done fair and square.
