The illustrated method changes colors in documents but not in forum posts. In posts, use [color=whatever] text yada yada [/color] where 'whatever' is your desire.

Nope. The illustrated way does exactly what you want it to do. It will place the bbcode text color code right in the text with the color you choose.

The illustrated way [COLOR="Red"][B]does exactly[/B][/COLOR] what you want it to do.

^^^was done using the drop down color selector, then clicking the B to bold.
