Will Brian Williams survive?

I am not totally sure what he did or said but the press looks really bad, so my gut reaction is no, same with Whitney Houston's daughter..

Any minute now, someone will upload a video of a cat tap dancing while wearing a blue katy perry wig.

Doubtful. For starters it was Left Shark.

But I agree he'll probably weather the storm if I had to flip a coin I'd go 60/40. I honestly don't give a shit.

On a side not as more facts are coming out there is now a pilot claiming they were shot at but with small arms not an RPG.

I like Brian Williams. I think he does a better job of letting me know when somebody's not alive anymore than any news anchor I've ever seen. I think he's funny on the talk shows, the kind of guy you'd enjoy having a beer with and hearing a story from.

Digging into it, it seems as if his personal stories get better over the years.
Did you know that he saw a body float by on Bourbon Street during Katrina? That he ingested flood water and got dysentery? That the Ritz-Carlton was overrun with gangs and he had to be rescued by a police officer? Others remember it differently, that Bourbon Street stayed dry, that there were no reported cases of dysentery, etc.

I have a feeling that if he's really a storyteller who doesn't let details get in his way, we'll see a pattern, kinda like people coming forward about Bill Cosby.

Sensational storytelling belongs on Dateline NBC. Whenever I watch the nightly news, I want to hear the facts. I don't want the anchor confusing or conflating , say, the country he happened to be in with the one in front of it, you know? I want to know what happened and who to. That's why I watch.

NBC has launched an internal investigation. One defender has cited this as an isolated incident, but I'm afraid it's not. Another has said this was just a personal story, not a matter of journalism, but it started with a segment about Brian Williams going to a Rangers game with a retired veteran he knew form Iraq. So Brian's story became a news story on NBC.

He won't go away, because he's too popular, but he won't remain the anchor.

I predict he will become Brian Williams, anchor emeritus and special correspondent for NBC News, and somebody else will take his job. Somebody with credibility and journalistic integrity. You know, so Brian can spend more time with his family, or seek treatment for early onset Azheimer's.

Why is this topic "retarded"? It is a timely current event. Explain?

Personally I bet he didn't lie. I think he is probably such a narcissist he warps events to make them about him. Over time, it isn't unusual for you mind to shape events in your favor. He believes his own bullshit.

But really though, why was he talking about "I was in a helicopter..." in the first place? He is just supposed to report the facts. This is modern journalism for you, make everything personal.
