Internet worked out pretty well, I've heard really good things about a couple of damns. There's a canal, well a couple one that connected our great lakes but another that connected some oceans. Given that up until the day before space travel was impossible for private industry there are a lot of satelites up there doing a lot of good.

And that's if we just want to count the physical stuff.

All 48 states had a gasoline tax by 1929. Linky

The DOT was chartered in 1966. Linky

There were actual roads before there were cars to drive upon them.

The point being that it is always presented as if there would be nihilsm if the FEDERAL government didn't look after us.

One of the few constitutionally required activities for the Feds other than maintaining a Navy is the building of "post roads." That doesn't mean the need to involve themselves with every road in the country.

The interstate system makes a degree of sense. Paying East-Coast, Davis-Bacon wages to build and maintain it it through right-to-work states does not make sense.

Sure it does... paying workers good wages to do their jobs makes complete sense. It allows them to take care of their families, pay their fare share of taxes, buy things like houses cars, motorcycles, go out to eat, which in turn creates businesses that offer those things. It's building from within...and there are studies that have shown that it really isn't much cheaper to hire scabs and the work often reflects that as well.

You're just a fucking idiot, especially regarding unions. Congrats, you and fatassjerryinflorida are in agreement....and neither of you even have a job.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

How exactly am I wrong that there were roads before there were gasoline taxes or DOT?

Since there were roads before 1929.

My grandfather drove to NM from Kentucky before 1929. He did not own a jeep or a chainsaw at the time.
