Why are Americans so anti carbs?...

For sure 'Atkins' works but it'll give you very bad breath, make you severely constipated, is highly impractical and is very expensive! The roughage attained from whole grains is easily the best and I'm sure the diet will lead to very serious illnesses with long term use.

If you keep fit the 'complex carbs' are a wonderful slow burning way of producing energy. Probably most importantly bread, potatoes and pasta are the stable diet of many poorer households as they are so affordable.

I just get pissed off with self righteous twats lecturing us on this very dangerous regime because it suits their current lifestyle, which in my view, they will eventually live to regret.

The secret is to KEEP FIT. Then you can eat all the complex carbs you crave as part of a balanced diet..

The Atkins diet was a fad-diet some 20 years ago. Did you mean to post this thread in 1995?

No. But you know as well I do the amount of people still obsessed with the concept this idiot put in people's minds..

Because our wheat is a hybrid strain developed in the 60s called dwarf wheat. It produces a much higher yield in the same amount of space and as such is more profitable. It also is less nutritious and contain incredibly high amounts of gluten. As it came more and more into use, we started seeing an increase in obesity. By the late 90s its the only what used in breads and pasta, so people started blowing up. It should rarely be eaten. Our obesity epidemic is all about our terrible for supply, not laziness. Most obese people are that way through no fault of their own. But no one wants to hear about it...

No fault of their own? Um, bollocks..

Bullsh!t.

All people but the most infirm are fully capable of growing virtually all their own food to consume. Yeah, it takes effort and work and breaking out of most's entitled lifestyle, but being responsible for oneself always has taken effort and work...

...such is fvcking real life.

American obesity, excluding medical abnormality, is exclusively the fault of individual Americans themselves...

...and their laziness and apathy about being totally involved in eating correctly is exactly what opens the door for unethical profiteers to do their taking advantage of thing.

Why aren't you obese?

Your theory ends here.

You are on the assumption that most people have arable land on which to grow their food

Can you please tell apartment dwellers how they are to grow their own food

Gluten is only a concern if you have Celiac disease, which only about 1% of the population has.

As to obese people being fat through no fault of their own, that is one of the most laughably idiotic statements I've ever read, on a board that serves up laughably idiotic statements daily.

You're probably just making excuses for your own fat ass.

EXERCISE, NOT EXTRA FRIES.

Now...

...back to fvck-off land you go.

Read you next year...

...same time, same Board.

Low carb is still a craze. It always will be because it works.

Having said that, some people cannot tolerate a lot of carbohydrates. The key to health always lies within the kitchen. You can't exercise your way out of a lifetime of eating toxins and pseudo food.

The rule of thumb is 80% diet, 20% working out

Lady Funkenstein is on the right track. The anti-carb craze is yet another band-aid in response to our growing obesity epidemic. There is a strong correlation between our growing waist lines and the increased reliance on processed foods primarily consisting of corn, wheat, and soy, which are all subsidized by our government, after being encouraged by the processed food companies to give them cheap materials. In other words, we don't eat real food as much anymore, and that has made us fat. An entire generation that has grown up thinking Hamburger Helper should be the basis of dinner has now turned to even more processed crap, looking for "low carb!" packages as the answer.

And whose fault is that?

So, again:

Why aren't you obese?

BTW, since you brought up "Body pic in my profile":

Have you ever seriously considered how thoughtfully effective a naked side-shot selfie of yourself would be? You know...

...ala the prototype the gorgeous evesdream invented to share with an eternally blessed audience the succulent lusciousness of her beautiful breast and the scrumptious deliciousness of her sensually breathtaking bottom?

Uh...excuse me...I...uh, uh...gotta go...

Dude, I have done the side selfie before, to show off my ass. Do a search. Also, people from lit have seen me naked in person. Lots of them. I have nothing to prove.

Why does the thought of my criticizing the US food supply anger you so much you want to attack me personally? What is your stake in it?

Correlation is not causation.

They've shown a correlation between the stock market and the length of women's skirts. Anyone actually believe one influences the other?

I ain't posting for you to prove anything...

...you mentioned your profile pic, I clicked to view it, and then I returned with a simple, heartfelt request, merely hoping to see more of your obvious beauty - naked, of course.

Alas...

...you just give me azzhole without any visual.

Also:

"people from lit have seen me naked in person. Lots of them."...

...please accurately estimate "lots".

Why does the thought of my criticizing the US food supply anger you so much you want to attack me personally? What is your stake in it?

You blamed the US food supply instead of individuals for individuals being obese...

...I called bullsh!t, explained why, and then asked you, "Why aren't you obese?" - three times now, in fact.

I want to know if the bullsh!t you actually claim is true - that individuals being obese isn't their responsibility...

...then why are you any different?

Why won't you answer?

The only other issue I addressed to you was you representing yourself to be laissez-faire to another poster...

...then asking you directing if you really meant that. You replied:

"Nope."

Thank you for your honesty.
