Let's see this Congress "repeal" Obama Care (Whatever the fuck that means).

But the real challenge is what will they replace it with? The GOP is a bunch of windbags that have done nothing but sit on the sidelines and throw bombs for 6 years. Time for them to step up and be public policy makers.

Personally - I do not think they are up for the challenge. They are a bunch of angry douchebags that are only good at being angry and destructive. They have not the first clue about how to create anything.

And by anything I mean: they cannot create one job; have one meaningful public policy initiative; save one life; make one person safer;

make it a CHOICE

pass another bill

give peeps a choice of the 2

The republicans have dropped all pretense about having a viable alternative to Obamacare. They quit caring about that quite a while ago.

And Democrats have been any better how?

There is no congresscritter anyplace who has anything other than thier own self interest at heart. ALL of it is lip service at best.

If you think otherwise, I suggest you check what it is that you are smoking 'cause it is giving you delusions and halucinations.

Let me try again. The Democrats saw that health insurance reform was needed and the ACA was passed into law when they controlled the Congress. The GOP has vowed repeal and voted for it 40 (something I lost count) times, symbolically, because they only controlled the House.

Now the GOP controls the Congress. What will they offer up as the signature public policy initiative for health insurance reform to replace the ACA? It is what they have been running on for 6 years.

Well... my state gave you a senate majority leader and we are known, historically for talking a big game but then... well, the redneck turn of phrase that we have for it is, "Let him go, he ain't gonna do shit."

I have been saying all along that Obamacare is not sustainable in its present form and will self implode or morph into yet another bloated and ineffective government bureaucracy. The net result in the long run will be that it will do more harm to the health care of the average citizen then the good that some tout on here.

You've also claimed that Obamacare would never ever meet enrollment numbers, and when they did meet their enrollment goals you refused to acknowledge the facts, because you are a sissified pink-pantied bitch.

Well, first of all, government doesn't usually create jobs. Business does. Don't kill the golden goose.

True, the Republican leadership in Congress hasn't done much to replace the ACA, but to be frank, it's because while they know it's a horrible law, and it is, they're loathe to do what really needs to be done, some form of universal health insurance outright, just as that radical communist Richard M. Nixon once proposed. ;) Or the other radical leftist Harry S. Truman.

I'll be honest here, I'm no flaming liberal, not a progressive in the slightest. I don't know exactly how this will get around 10th Amendment issues. But I do see that Canada and Japan, two very capitalist nations, have no trouble managing single-payer health care. I think that it's time. Yes, I'm a Republican, and I still consider myself center-right, but I don't see this as a right or left issue. It just needs to be done. The ACA is fundamentally flawed, so let's start over and do it right. Single-payer. It's a pro-business idea, as it gets the burden off the small businessmen of providing health care for workers. This isn't about party, nor about right or left. It's just overdue.

For all the sturm und drang over "socialized medicine", the core Fox News demographic (aging bitter white men clinging to their guns) does surprisingly little kvetching over Medicare.

From your friends at the Huff Post...

"An analysis released by HHS on Monday projects between 9 million and 9.9 million individuals will be enrolled in health insurance plans obtained via an Affordable Care Act exchange by the end of 2015. That's up to 4 million fewer people than estimated by the Congressional Budget Office in April. HHS also reported that 7.1 million people were fully enrolled as of Oct. 15, a decline of about 200,000 from August."

simple fix the insurance and hospitals

fucking 86 obama care - make people pay for their own fucking insurance

time for the obama kind to get off their ass and get a job ... a 2nd job if need be or even a third

stop being such a little bitch, you obama people

if you're so in favour of choice... why is that you're opposed to a woman having the power of choice when it comes to her own body

I've been kinda bitchy toward you lately, but whatever pissy attitude I might have, I do have to take a second out and congratulate you on that burn. It was out of nowhere and I enjoyed it.

Btw, Dems need to approve that over-the-counter contraceptive they've been holding up. Odd of them to oppose reproductive choice here.

I don't know what this is but I would like to.

It's legislation to make all prescription birth control pills "over the counter".

It's the living embodiment of the old axiom "Politics makes strange bedfellows".
  • Fiscal conservatives want the law because it will mean insurance companies and Medicare will no longer pay for it.
  • Social conservatives are opposed because they are committed to denying access to birth control as a key component of their "Punish the Slut" initiative.
  • Some liberals want it because it would make access to reliable birth control easier for women.
  • Some liberals oppose this legislation because they feel the OTC cost (~$30 a month) is prohibitive for the poorest women in society and want the government to continue to pay for it.

It's a very rare piece of legislation that splits both Republicans AND Democrats down the middle. I cannot recall anything in the recent past that created such a split.

there the little bitch goes off again ... its too hard....its too expensive ... I need for you to pay for my insurance

get a job, fatass

Obama's original concept of a sliding scale for payment would have worked better, but oh, wait...that would mean the wealthy would have to pay for medical:rolleyes: and the middle class wouldn't be able to be crushed double.:rolleyes:

Before Obama care or anything like it came to fruition the insurance providers should have been raked over the coals and bitch slapped for all their scams and games and over charging and other bullshit.

Until then whatever the Government comes up with will lead to Blue Cross and company making a killing and everyone else getting killed (wait,,,blue cross will gladly share the wealth with all the dem and republican's they have in their pocket so forget it)

Birth control pills are really dangerous tho... they aren't OTC because even being off slightly can cause blood clots, strokes, and death, not because of price. They redistribute your entire hormonal balance- they don't really... yeah, that's not something that should be OTC. A lot of people are on hormone therapy for endometreosis or to prevent cancer or because they've HAD cancer and no longer have ovaries to produce estrogen... that's... has there been a committee of doctors asked about this? Because it seems like the kind of thing you should see a doctor for.
