Climate continues to change.

Because Dr. Spencer is still working, then there is no institutional prejudice against "deniers."

Is that really how you roll?

http://bigstory.ap.org/article/7a5b...figure-figuring-odds-earths-global-hot-streak

The Associated Press consulted with statisticians to calculate the odds of this hot streak happening at random. Here are some statistics and the odds they calculated, with the caveat that high temperatures tend to persist so that can skew odds a bit:

The three hottest years on record — 2014, 2010 and 2005 — have occurred in the last 10 years. The odds of that happening randomly are 3,341 to 1, calculated John Grego of the University of South Carolina. Kai Zhu of Stanford University, Robert Lund of Clemson University and David Peterson, a retired Duke statistician, agreed.

Nine of the 10 hottest years on record have occurred in the 21st century. The odds of that being random are 650 million to 1, the statisticians said.

Thirteen of the 15 the hottest years on record have occurred in the last 15 years. The odds of that being random are more than 41 trillion to 1, the statisticians said.

All 15 years from 2000 on have been among the top 20 warmest years on record. They said the odds of that are 1.5 quadrillion to 1. A quadrillion is a million billion.

And then there's the fact that the last 358 months in a row have been warmer than the 20th-century average, according to NOAA. The odds of that being random are so high — a number with more than 100 zeros behind it — that there is no name for that figure, Grego said.

If the premise is flawed, then the statistics are flawed.

It is less than probable that 2014 was hotter than some of the years of the dust bowl or 1998...

I know you do not have a degree in math or science, but I do.

So..you take data from a geologically insignifigant length if time, compare it to scant data from another geologically insignifigant period if time during the predictable warming trend between regulary occuring ice ages and you have "proved" exactly what?

When it's warm it's not "weather."

That's only when it is a polar vortex...

Let's forget about temperature for a moment. Tell everyone if you think we should continue burning fossil fuels knowing what they are doing to the quality of our air.

You should forget about the temperature.

Given that the other option is to destroy the economy, yes.

Progress is the only way to come up with the technology that changes the paradigm.

They are not doing to the quality of the air much more than the backdrop of things such as natural fires, cooking fires, volcanic activity, which researches now say is cooling us because of putting sulfuric acid into the air. And just last month, the news from the Gaiaists was that the reason we were not experiencing warming is because it was hiding in the ocean. It is very clever that way.

Shhh....

;) ;)

He's setting a trap. It is why he never answers questions.

I like the "Lets forget about temperature..." in Phodeau's "Low temperatures are just weather, and high temperatures are climate change thread."

Oh it's a very clever trap. I just copped to "wanting" dirty air...

;)

I walked right into that one. Oh yes I did.

:D

It is entirely possible that is the single dumbest question in the entire history of mankind.

Ha...

You admitted ~snip~ "...wanting dirty air!"

You took wood smoke instead of gas turbine exhaust?

I was thinking more about our new-found richness of natural gas, but yeah, nothing beats a good wood fire...

;)

And a nice big steam engine. It meets the sailing ships in the harbor and we unload freight by hand and people gather in small towns all along the railheads waiting for not much of anything that they cannot afford anyway.

:D

Of course you have cites for all of that information.

That is not "information."

That is an examination of the options on the very sparse table you set.

Then you should be able to find several cites showing that the only options on the table are clean air and being poor and unhealthy air and a high quality of living.

There are more options on the table than that.

cite?

Now there are options to choose from?

Are you really sure you want to offer us in a position? You might have to defend it...

I'm not the one who gets defensive and plays the victim when asked for cites. If you want cites, I'll gladly give them, but keep in mind, I asked you to back up your claims first. After years of reading your posts you won't post a cite, you have nothing to back you up.
