I believe you are now required to have 100 posts to have both a profile pic and an av.

Bailadora is right, one must have posted 100 messages on the forums in order to have a profile picture. It's kind of lame, and basically the reason I even post on here, ever. Such a chore.

Accumulating 100 posts isn't hard. All you need to do is wander over to the Playground and participate in a few of the game type threads. You'll have your required minimum before you know it.


Also, I'm given to understand that the reason for the requirement is because they want to be somewhat sure people are going to hang around for awhile before they let them put up pics.

I can't vouch for the veracity of that statement, but it is the most frequent explanation I've seen offered.

You need to force the software to recalculate your permissions; since you've been gone for three hours, the options requiring 100 posts should be available by the time you see this post.

That was a recent change (as in about a year ago.) I can't be positive, but I believe it extends to signature pictures also; anything that Lit has to store on the servers and doesn't wish to store for people who post once or twice and then disappear.

Of course you do and only because you don't have the required 100 posts yet. But as this isn't your website, tough cookies.

I guess you could offer to pay for the disk space required to hold all avatars, profile pictures and any and all attachments you would use. They could...oh I don't know...charge $50 a year, that would cover a terabyte of disk space, just for you.

So is it a requirement to have 100 posts before your profile/biography picture will show up? I understand this is how it works for an avatar but is it now the same for the picture that displays under your biography?

Also I tried posting several profile/biography (not avatar) pictures but will only the last uploaded one actually show up?

You only get one profile pic. As for having to have 100 posts on the story side, I doubt it, but it's been so long since I surpassed the 100 post mark...

If I remember correctly, I could post profile pics in both places with out 100 posts, but that was a long, long time ago.
