It looks like open season on cops in NYC.
--------------------------------
A massive manhunt was underway early Tuesday for the suspected armed robbers who shot and wounded two plainclothes New York City police officers in the Bronx. Both officers are expected to survive.

The New York Post reported that the officers, identified as Andrew Dossi and Aliro Pellarano, had just ended their regular shifts when they were part of the response to a report of a robbery at a Chinese restaurant at approximately 10:30 p.m. local time. When they arrived, they were confronted by two suspects.

Law enforcement sources told the paper that both suspects fired on the officers, hitting Pellarano in the arm and grazing him in the chest. Dossi was shot in the stomach and the arm. The gunmen then exchanged fire with other responding officers as they fled the scene on foot.

The Post reported that the suspects carjacked a white Chevrolet Camaro and drove it a few blocks before crashing. They then got out and fled on foot. A source told the Post that a weapon was recovered near where the car crashed.

Both officers were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, and the Post reported that Dossi was in surgery early Tuesday morning.

"Thanks God these officers are doing well," New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a news conference at the hospital early Tuesday. "These officers did something that was extraordinarily brave. They did it as part of their commitment. These officers had just come off their shift and upon hearing this call went back out in search of these criminals. The work they do is so profoundly important in this instance where they went above and beyond the call to protect their fellow New Yorkers."

The Post reported that one possible suspect was apprehended at nearby New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where he had sought treatment for a gunshot wound. It was not clear how he was shot.

New York Police Commissioner William Bratton described the suspects as two Hispanic men in their mid-to-late 20s. The organization COP SHOT, Citizens Outraged at Police Being Shot, has offered a $10,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.

It looks like miles is STILL a moron.

This was an armed robbery attempt. Not the first in NYC and certainly not the last.

Only an idiot would try to link this to the protests, like they did the shootings of Officers Liu and Ramos by a mentally unstable man who had earlier gut-shot his ex-girlfriend.

Knew about this last night when it happened. I was waiting to see which choad would run with the predictable spoonfeed first.

So, Miles...are other robberies involving gunfire in other cities an "open season" on cops as well, or is it just little ol' special us? What would Barney Fife say?

Do you really expect miles to understand the difference between two cops shot in the line of duty apprehending armed robbers, vs two cops executed?

Are you joking or really that stewpid?

NYPD Officer Shot In Bronx “Wasn’t Too Happy” About De Blasio Visiting Him In The Hospital…

For obvious reasons.

Via NY Post:

One of the cops wounded in a wild Bronx shootout didn’t appreciate a hospital sympathy visit from Mayor Bill de Blasio, the wounded officer’s dad told The Post on Tuesday.

The mayor accompanied NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton to St. Barnabas Hospital overnight to see wounded plainclothes officers Andrew Dossi, 30, and Aliro Pellarano, 38.

“He wasn’t too happy about the mayor’s visit,” Dossi’s dad, Joe, told The Post at the family’s home in Rockland County.

“He (Dossi) deals with some crappy people every day and getting no support (from the mayor), come on. These are the guys in the trenches dealing with anything and everything.”

The mayor and rank-and-file cops have been at war since last month, after a Staten Island grand jury declined to indict a white police officer, whose chokehold contributed to the death of Eric Garner.

Hizzoner is a smarmy POS. Throb probably loves the commie bastard.

Is it racist to ask the race of the perpetrators??

[white privileged conservative whine]

"Why do you people ALWAYS bring up and make it about race??????":mad::mad::mad::rolleyes:

Piers Morgan To De Blasio: You’re Awesome Because You Hate White Cops…

Piers Morgan

Having failed as a gun-grabber, Morgan tries race-baiting.

Via Daily Mail:

…I vividly remember another part of our interview, where I played you a video of your daughter Chiara talking about you, and saying she was so happy that you weren’t ‘some boring white guy who didn’t know what he was talking about.’ She added: ‘Dad cares about everyone in this city, rich, poor, black, white, blue whatever, and that’s what we need.’

She was right. You are what New York needs. It’s one of the most multi-cultural cities on earth, and with your black wife and two black children, you are perfectly placed to understand and articulate the particular issues such a multi-cultural society creates.

So don’t apologise for spelling out the reality of the Eric Garner case.

It was an incident that shamed the NYPD, shamed New York, and shamed America.

It was also another clear message to New York’s black community that you have to be very careful when interacting with certain rogue members of the NYPD. To pretend otherwise is to ignore what we all saw on that hideous video.

A disturbing New York Daily News investigation last month revealed that at least 179 people have been killed by the NYPD in the last 15 years.
Where race was known, 86% were either black or Hispanic.

27% of those killed were unarmed.

The stats don’t lie.

The abuse that you’re now facing is a small price to pay for being right, Mr Mayor.

Don’t be a boring white guy. That’s not why you were elected.

Kind regards
Piers Morgan

Whenever some one says "stats don't lie" you can be fairly certain they are using them to obfuscate some reality and artificially highlight some invented reality.

There are liars, damned liars and statisticians.

*Googles "obfuscate"* brb...

but if I use context clues...one can discern that you mean...

"fuck with?"

Anyway OP. People kill cops all the time. Any cop killings that happen after Ismaaiyl Brinsley's homicides do NOT mean there is a war against cops.

Over-dramatizing shit. You just said the "Bronx." The fucking Bronx, dude. Every type of body is getting killed out there on a good Tuesday, stop it.

No they don't. I don't have percentages but cops kill more people than people kill cops by a wide margin. And since all cops are armed and on average your civilians are not it's not remotely the same.

This was just a dangrous situation and two cops got shot. Despite the racist right wing no amount of dead cops justifies shooting unarmed blacks anymore than any number of dead soldiers justifies killing unarmed Arabs.

Well of course "all the time" was hyperbolic. This isn't the last days.

The point is that the title is inciting that there is "open season" on cops because of the recent killings by the Brinsley guy. We all know what he's doing, come on Sean. Cops have died in the line of duty before, many times, especially in my city. Local news and what FOX decides to air are two different things. There is no "open season." Oh my God. He's so dumb.

Read the headlines from EVERY paper in America from 1960 to 1975 and you'll see this is NOT NEW! OMG cops shot at during a robbery, it's open season.

Stop shilling for Fox

Exactly. Mmmmmuah.

1501 over ten years when your job is confronting peoples suspected of breaking the law isn't even all that often in my opinion, but I'll admit that it's my opinion.

I agree that miles is a peice of shit, it's not open season, never has been, never will be.
