It's just a stroke of luck that it was even discovered. If not I would have been dead in three years unless I started pissing blood or something. Even then.
Mine too actually...

In a matter of unknown weeks, I get to do it all over again. That crushing weight hanging over my head just won't seem to go away.
They don't want to do surgery. Ablation again.
why? if it works, that would be great but have you gotten a second opinion? researched it like mad on the internet? stuff like that? are you somewhere with a major medical center?
Ablation is the least intrusive, least overall risk.
how will it be different this time? what makes them think it will work?
They don't know for certain. I could die from the general anesthesia. I could hit a deer on the way to work tomorrow. I was all prepared to have them cut me open and be done with it. If it does work, it will take another 7 months to know. If it doesn't work, in another 7 months I'll be doing something again.
It makes sense medically. It kills me emotionally.
Found out two weeks ago that I have cancer after a physical. Thinking positive thoughts for you ms Ann thorpe
I am sorry to hear that. I hope it is quickly treated and resolved. They did blood for that at a physical?
Had a pap smear lately?
Ablation on known cancerous tissue is a 40 yr old treatment and we now know there are better options under 99% of the circumstances. It can actually spread the cancer if it isn't done right, and most times it isn't. Just input from the cheap seats.
I'm not a candidate for DaVinci surgery due to "factors". The surgeon says wait 5 months and rescan, maybe do another biopsy then. The scans are inconclusive to this point. Back into limbo.
If the tumor indeed regrows, I will lose the kidney. Big whup. It's not like it's a tit or a brain. It's just a kidney. The Brits eat them for breakfast.
So, just don't think about it.
Are you a doctor?
I would have elective surgery and remove the kidney.
I would not wait another 5 months..... in that time, shit can spread.
Kidney cancers grow at pretty much an established rate. There is a possibility that the ablation did the job.
